Stopping vaping

Has anyone managed to do this? I'm having pain in my thighs which I think is related to hardening of the arteries, although I haven't been to the doctor about it.

I have read that vaping does cause artery problems and I know I need to stop.

I have been vaping now for almost 9 years.

Has anyone else experienced these problems and managed to give up vaping?

Would hypnosis or acupuncture work?

Would nicotine gum/lozenges help? Then gradually exchange for regular gum/lozengers

I had chest pains, headaches, trouble sleeping and every time I used my vape would need to use my asthma pump straight after. I just couldn’t stop using it so I ended up throwing it away in a bin on a walk. Had a rough few days (worse than coming off the cigarettes) but haven’t used it for over a year now and much better

I used the vape to make it easier to give up the cigs. My plan was to start with a small bottle of vape oil containing my full dosage of nicotine. Then when that ran out gradually lowering the nicotine dose until I wasn't having any at all. Kick the nicotine habit first.

Then wait until the vape got too blocked to be effective and I couldn't be bothered replacing the filter and give it up completely.

It took about 8 months from last cig to last vape and I was done with smoking completely. It's now been 3 years and I couldn't believe how easy it was. But I had to be ready to quit, that's the key.

I haven't given up completely, I still take it with me to stressful situations and have it occasionally when I drink, but I had to stop the nicotine in it a few years ago because of extremely fast heart rate.
Which nic shots do you use?
Nic salt acts very quickly so if you want to wean yourself off if go for the slower release nic shots, there's not such a shock to the system, then just put less and less nicotine in until finally there's nothing. Although I just took it out straight away.
It's almost definitely the nicotine.. but I'm willing to be corrected.. What PG/VG ratio do you use ?
If you actually want to stop vaping all together start doing the same breathing exercise you do when you vape, part of the reason why we calm down when we vape/smoke, which shouldn't happen because nicotine is a stimulant is because of the way we breathe whilst doing it, it's very close to breathing exercises for hyperventilating/panic attacks etc so start doing those without the vape. YouTube I'm sure will have some vids on breathing exercises

It's worth mentioning that regular cigarettes have several additives that make them more addictive (like chemicals that expand your capillaries so you absorb more nicotine, that kind of thing). That means that vaping nicotine in PG or VG is easier to give up.

Quitting is mostly psychological though so the addictiveness factor is minimal.

Imo, the advice above about breathing is great.

Also there are a lot of herbs that definitely help so get into herbal tea concoctions if you don't already, I'm a big skullcap fan/pusher I think it's one of the best herbs in the world for both animals and humans
The catnip on this list usually raises a giggle, no you won't suddenly have an urge to shin up the curtains, unfortunately it doesn't have the same effect on us. If you do try catnip get some organic stuff online, some of the dusty crap some of the pet shops sell are ancient.
