Smoking to Vaping…

So a couple of days ago I got my first e-cig (vape uk) & today is first day of no real cigarette. I ‘wasn’t’ a heavy smoker, around 5 - 6 a day. But my goal is to stop. However I’ve a lot going on at the moment & it’s pretty stressful for me, maybe not the best time to try & quit but I have to start sometime & thought I’d try vaping.

I’m starting with the high strength e-cig. Any one else done this & how did it go?

I am finding that I do have to ‘draw’ quite hard on the e-cig to get something out, is that how they are? Are there any other vapes/e-cigs that anyone would recommend? Also I’ve got a heavy feeling on my chest, which has only come about with the use of the vape, I could be reading to much into it, I don’t know.

I’m not sure how helpful my answer is. But I swapped to a vape about 4 months ago and I’m still on a high mg purely due to stress and not wanting to start smoking again properly as I’ve been so tempted.
ive found the aspire pockeX I good vape to start with as it’s slim and find it Smooth and not harsh.
my chest felt heavy for about a week and assumed it was the switch. But might be something to keep an eye on because I’m not sure it is normal.

I also started with aspire pockex and I now have an MVP.
Also still on high mg, chest took awhile to get used to.

You shouldn't have to be drawing hard to get something out though.

When you give up smoking your body does a bit of a purge so you may find you cough gunk up. That may be why your chest feels odd. Vaping feels different to smoking so it’ll take some time to get used to it. If you have a vape shop they are really good at talking you through the options. I started with the Innokin pen type vape and then swapped for a bigger battery as the charge lasts longer. I’ve been gradually decreasing my mg and am now on 3mg liquid. Well done for quitting!

@HSKAT is your MVP worth it? I’m considering a new vape. But really don’t know what I’m looking for haha.

Im not clued up either haha!

But I do love my MVP! I get along with it much better than the aspire.
Battery life has been good.

I'd recommend an actual vape instead of an ecig. Good luck with it. I was a heavy smoker for years and I haven't had a cigarette for 10 months now. The first two or three weeks were hard, now I don't even think about it.

Oooh. I think I’ll have a look. The aspire has been good to me but think it’s time for a change.
ive looked at different ones. But I’m baffled as to what is good and I don’t want to spend silly money on one because it lights up different colours 😂

HSKAT · 08/05/2022 21:36

😂 yep I didn't want to get sucked into that either!
I got mine from vape superstore

Thanks everyone, quite a few different ones to have a look at! I think I’ll try a vape next time rather than an e-cig as I had a go on a vape the other day (not that it was passed around or anything!) and I found I didn’t have to ‘draw’ as hard as I do on the e-cig. Today 4th day of no real cig & I nearly cracked Friday night but luckily for me shop was shut so it was a sign! Glad to hear it gets easier & well done to everyone else that’s managed it/doing the same.
