I have been bleaching my dark brown hair for 4 years now.
My once thick hair turned so thin and so much breakage.
The ends were wispy and it just looked awful but I loved being blonde.
Anyway I took the plunge and yesterday my hairdresser dyed it back brown.
She cut it so it would grow back healthy (we hope )
She said she thinks it's the best thing for my hair.
She said it probably wasn't the bleach making it snap or thin and maybe my hormones as I'm 37 (apparently this happens )
Anyway here is a before and after
I won't lie I don't even feel like me anymore
I'm assuming it will lighten slightly
What do you think ?
Did I do the right thing ?

There are no pics to see

Your hairdressers is lying. It will 100% be the years of bleaching destroying your hair

I can't see how any hormone changes can effect the ends of your hair? That's all dead and was grown years ago (depending on how long your hair is and how quickly it grows)

If you’ve been bleaching alone, without help, you’ll have been overlapping at some points. Hair damage doesn’t always show right away

I’ve stopped bleaching my hair, even though I’m not particularly keen on my natural colour but my God the condition of my hair is so much better. It will be the bleach.

You're a bit young for hormonal thinning/weakening, it'll be the bleach, particularly alongside heat styling if you've done that.

Letting it grow back is near enough the only way. Cutting off the worst and salon treatments might allow you to stay blonde but it would be very expensive.

Can't see pics but it will lighten and you'll get used to it. Think about changing your make up and tops to suit.

Even without seeing the pictures I can guarantee you're doing the right thing. Bleech destroys hair over time. I know 2 work colleagues who bleached their hair continuously and both ended up with broken, thin, damaged hair. One is still bleaching and is now using extensions to try and hide the breakage. She loves being blonde so much she can't stand to go back to her natural colour. I'd chose a healthy head of hair any day. You'll get used to the colour.
