Does wearing a band t shirt automatically make you look twattish?

Especially if said band were before your time?? I have a Blondie T shirt and, while I like a bit of Blondie, I'm no superfan. Will I get looks like this? Am clearing out my wardrobe and it's one of the few things that fits. Am mid twenties, skinny, and probably less cool than I think I am

band tshirts make you look exceptionally cool

especially tour tshirts

they do not make you look like a lesbian or a scary goth when you also wear biker boots

despite what my sister says to me every time i sport the above combo

(** please don't flame me lesbians and goths. i have nothing against you and have flirted with both in the past )

southeastastra · 07/07/2010 14:03

i would only wear one if a true fan. otherwise they do look twattish.

SandyBits · 07/07/2010 14:05

Hmm
Two opposing views.
Deffo not with biker boots. I was thinking skinny jeans and flip flops. The weather here is shocking

no no biker boots good

esp if you are off to a rock festival soon, for example...

MayorNaze · 07/07/2010 14:08

oh i wear band tshirts with everything

but then most people would probably say my style was questionable anyway...

OneFishTwoFish · 07/07/2010 14:11

I love them. But then again I do only wear band t-shirts if I love the band.

I wore them with skinny jeans and heels or boots. I do think you have to be pretty slender to pull them off - I am now 36 weeks pregnant and they are a distant memory. Saying that, I went to see Aerosmith a few weeks ago and met FIVE other pregnant ladies there!

Jazzicatz · 07/07/2010 14:16

How does anyone know if you are a proper fan or not?

MayorNaze · 07/07/2010 14:17

ohhhh...aerosmith...bet they were good...

SandyBits · 07/07/2010 14:19

jazzicat, you know what I mean. I feel the same about people putting their babies in Ramones babygrows. I very much doubt the baby is a huge fan

dd often goes to nursery in little band tshirts

she loves them and always asks fo "rock and roll mummy" in the var

MayorNaze · 07/07/2010 14:20

var?? i mean car

TrillianAstra · 07/07/2010 14:21

No, but it will make the kind of people who think music relects personality judge you by the bands you like.

southeastastra · 07/07/2010 14:22

why would you wear a band t shirt if you didn't like the band? what's the sense in that?

also dislike the baby ramone or clash type t shirts.

though i thought it was odd to see a bloke in a yankees hat with a mets t shirt on

SandyBits · 07/07/2010 14:22

Yes trillian that's what I mean
Btw, I am beyond pissed off that I got the guts to get that maxi dress and now the bloody sun's disappeared I'm taking it personally

It's supposed to be better at the weekend.

This is why summer dresses last so long - you only get to wear them once or twice a year.

If you wear a Blondie t-shirt, people who care about that sort of thing will think you are the 'type' who likes Blondie. Depending on their interpretation they might decide to like you more or less, even before speaking to you.

But that's true to an extent for all clothes. People will make assumptions about you in your maxi-dress too (especially since it's white and you are young - they will probably assume that you don't have chidren ).

SandyBits · 07/07/2010 14:47

Trillian, the white thing has made me wonder what on earth I was thinking. I don't swan around. I chase and climb and get very grubby. I keep having visions of it getting caught in the buggy wheels

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 07/07/2010 14:49

You'll have to learn to swan Or maybe educate us all in the art of chasing/climbing in a long skirt. Hopefully without the grubbiness.
