Maybe an AIBU: to think that if it says 'non sticky, none streaky'...

on L'oreal Sublime Bronze gel, then I shouldn't have felt sticky for over an hour and I shouldn't be streaky?

arggghh.... I exfoliated vigourously, especially the feet, and still ended up with orange heels. I washed my hands extremely thoroughly after yet still my fingers now have a 60-a-day look

Is there any DIY self tanner which really does a good job (on fair skin) ? I tried 'holiday skin' last year - no apparent change for a couple of days, then suddenly got very orange patches.

Is there any way of using it on legs (where the l'oreal is not a bad colour, to be fair) without messing up the feet?

YABU for using fake tan in the first place!

I know, I know, hindsight is a wonderful thing

But one reads how much better they are now and I didn't think that labelling was supposed to be downright untruthful.

I only use st tropez mouse and it gives great results every time (and you have to wear gloves - not the tight condomy smelling ones, the looser ones that you can get in supermarkets that are kind of nearly see-thru)

Vita Liberata from Boots is really great. You do have to wear gloves to put it on - but it is not streaky, and does not cause orange feet and knees.

I've tried everything from Clarins fake tan to Dove in the past and this is the only non-streaky one ever- it was recommended to me by a friend when I asked her why she was so tanned when she'd never left Scotland!

Thanks - if I dare try again I'll try one of those. I'd better bin the L'Oreal before I'm tempted to try to even out the patchy bits - it won't work, will it?

It may even out - I apply over 3 consequitive nights for a deep golden tan with my st tropez mouse (not because of streaks, but because my legs don't seem to take the tan as well as rest of me!)

So, pop on some gloves and give it a go!
