Home hair dye question - what will happen if I use another pack?

I used a blonde home hair dye on my hair, but I should have used a pre-lightener first as my hair was already coloured dark brown, so it came out ginger instead of blonde. It doesn't look too bad, but just wondered, if I did use another pack, would it go blonde this time? Thanks.

Hmm, it should go lighter. I had this too.
I'd leave it a week before dyeing again, and choose something ash to get rid of orange/yellow tones and then buy Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes shampoo and conditioner. It's bright purple but also tones out yellow.
I got it in Boots.

Right, thanks, I didn't think of that, don't want to end up orange. I'll wait until a day when I'm off work just in case.
I'm a bit scared now, but I'll have to do it anyway!

Just in case anyone else was wondering the same thing, the answer is yes you do need to use a pre-lightener (I did a strand test with a non-pre-lightening dye and it had no effect whatsoever)
