Not exactly Style and Beauty but never mind. This heat is awful for DS. I try and cover him up as much as possible, but he inevitably needs sun cream too. He has developed a rash from it and I've been trying to get a brand that doesn't affect him. Have spent a fortune on creams. I heard someone on here mention Sun Sense, but that gives him a rash, as does Soltan Kids. Yesterday I got a factor 50 oil spray one from Banana Boat, thinking that as it wasn't sun milk, it might be different but that seems to do it too.

Has anyone had similar problems? Sun cream is not cheap and I can't keep buying it like this.

lavera or neals yard. both will most likely send you a sample if you ask.

Simple Baby is ok on my son and he gets a rash from most other brands.

Thanks. Will try to get samples Primrose. Simple Baby, haven't seen that, will look out for it.

I have just ordered this for my ds and they do samples so might send you one. And on offer at the mo.

Jason factor 30 sunblock was recommended to me and I've used it on DS2 for a week (who reacted to all other suncreams with heat rash and eczema) and he's not reacted to it. It's mineral based and not cheap.

Banana Boat ok for my eczema prone ds but not for super sensitive dd

Proderm Sun Mousse spf 30 (Boots and online) is good.

E45 sun cream - hard to track down - Boots no longer stock it, Amazon do/did. This actually soothes dd's skin; it goes on thickly so a little goes a very long way. It's far and away the best non-allergenic suncream we've used.

Oooh, Soltan is a bad one if you're allergy prone.

I found lil' gators suncream good. It lasts for 8 hours, too. If you want one that's more widely available, have you tried Nivea?

I've also been told that Simple is good. I'm currently using Nivea Baby on my 2yo after she had an allergic reaction to their children's suncream. No problems so far.

Boots children's cream was also a no-no. Lucky I need factor 50 too or I'd be offloading a lot of suncream onto other people and be v out of pocket.
