Which foundation for this weather?

I am desperate for a new foundation. I have always used a foundation that lasts all day but am finding it a little heavy in this weather.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what to use, I want something with quite a good coverage, light on the skin, light reflective n not too expensive. Have heard good things about Laura Mercier but that is £30+

Help!

i just use less of normal
or dilute

MamaG · 29/06/2010 19:23

I don't bother.
Just a dab of translucent on my beak and a swoosh of bronzer

Laura Mercier is expensive but a just a small amount gives great coverage and the tube lasts for ages.

Can't you just use a tinted moisturiser? No 7 are ok

I have just bought some Bobbi Brown 'skin' and the eye brightener to use with it. It was £60ish for the pair but they will last me for ages.

I don't think tinted moisturisers really give me enough coverage, but I could always try one.
I want something thats going to make me look fresh faced n I haven't got the best skin in the world

my bare minerals is wearing well in this hot weather.

I wouldn't recommend the No.7 tinted moisturiser, I have it and find even the lightest shade very dark. It doesn't give much coverage and without being immodest I have pretty good skin. Also find it quite greasy.

No idea, just use tinted moisturiser in these conditions.

castlesintheair · 29/06/2010 22:09

bare escentuals is fab. You can adjust your 'coverage' accordingly.

I second diluting idea. I just put small blob of ordinary day cream on back of hand and add similar sized blob of foundation to it. Mix and apply lightly as usual.

But when it is REALLy hot, I just put a little fake tan on my face every night or so (tiny amount - we are not talking tango here) and then in morning just wash and moisturise face as usual and apply a bit of concealer in usual places (maybe a dab of highlighter such as touche eclat) and then finish with light dusting of neutral loose powder (applied with humungously large brush - blow excess off first). The powder 'damps down' the tan iyswim which kind of subtley glows through it - whole effect isn't shiny.

As others have said, I put a bit of moisturiser on my hand, then a bit of foundation (Mac Studio Fix) and mix them up. I have pretty horrible skin, and that gives me a decent amount of coverage

I treated myself to the Mac face and body foundation and it is perfect for this weather.
