Getting shoes handmade - is it £££££££??

I have a pair of Clarks sandals (!!) which I've had for years and years. Maybe 8 years. They're my favourite ever: 1cm straps crossing, buckle fastening, flat but solid sole.
They're dying. I've had them fixed 4 times now, and whilst the sole is still fine, I think the latest sign of wear and tear may be the end.

Since I can't get them any more, I thought perhaps I could have some made...but where? Is it megabucks? I had a leather flip flop made (but much crappier with a sole as thick as a poppadom and they rub like fury and are generally unwearable but look cute) in Capri for £5! They're not really complex or anything. (Not that I know how to make shoes, mind.)

I'm not sure, but am bumping, as this is a question which interests me, too!

You could always have a holiday in Florence and have them made there! If and when we go on holiday there, I am so going to the leather market to see about a bag!

Or Rome...
My friend at work had the same sandals and adored them too; they're comfy and attractive. But sadly I have no idea of the style name or anything.

Perhaps take some photos and email then to Clarks' customer relations dept?

You just never know your luck if they can trace the pattern and offer another pair.

Good point, Polly. Will do that too - before they breathe their last!
