Dress me for an interview please

I've got an interview tomorrow (yes I know I should have sorted it out earlier but I didn't know we were going to have a heatwave ).

The role is working in compliance for a newly formed organisation in a very corporate sector.

So, looking in my wardrobe my choices are:

1.Black skirt suit and grey/white striped blouse (although not happy with the skirt and the blouse makes me boiling hot).

2.Black jersey wrap-over dress with random white markings that I can only describe as like paint strokes. I'd wear this with the black fitted suit jacket.

3.Start from scratch and make a mad dash over to somewhere like Debenhams.

I feel more comfortable in the dress and it is smart, but it's been years since I did the corporate thing so I'm not sure if it's smart enough IYSWIM.

I'm waiting now with baited breath because if I've got to go out I'll have to leave by 4pm.

FYI - size 20, shortarse, large of norkage.

Your suit sounds safe - could you dash out and get a new blouse in a cooler material to wear with it? Wrap dresses are always a bit "dangerous" on me and you would not want to be worrying about showing too much cleavage in interview - people tend to use things like that to remember you. I have just been interviewing and we are appointing "Mrs Nice Cardigan" and "Miss bra on show" ( her skills surpassed her sartorial error)

at Miss Nice Cardigan. This is a moniker I could aspire to

I think you'll be hot in a suit but there's maybe no way round it in this heat... hmmm...

You could go out and look for a short sleeved shirt in a nice breathable fabric to make life a bit better? Hard to know though at such short notice as it could be hard to find something.

oops duplication sorry!

I would say suit rather than dress, but if you not happy with skirt OR blouse, rush out and buy something else: you will not feel confident if you are not happy in your outfit. If nothing else, buy great shoes. And good luck!

Note to self - make sure bra is not on show (or perhaps I should if it'll get me noticed ).

Right, can't hold on any longer and this may be a bit of a jaunt so I'm off to town to seek out something cool and sophisticated .

I'll let you know how I get on.
