duff charity shop purchases

thought i was onto 2 winners today.

bought a thomas pink "primrose" dress in animal print - was a sample in my size for a change but once on at home makes me look 20 years older!

I really thought it was going to help me look hip and trendy.

second purchase was sweet floral little top shop dress and when i tried it on it has a huge "dark" mark on one side - perhaps why it was given to charity in the first place?!

i sit here rather depressed and not sure what to do - convince myself the TP dress is really quite fab OR attempt to Ebay it.
TS dress is currently in the machine so will need to wait 'til its dry to see the result.

possibly £28 out of pocket ............. depressed.

blimey

Did they not have a changing room??

Ragwort · 23/06/2010 19:29

Most charity shops will take it back and give you a 'credit note' if not a refund.

Feeling rather smug as I got a Boden skirt and per una shirt at my local charity shops in the last couple of days.

OhCobblers · 23/06/2010 19:29

TIY i know but the TP dress retails at nearly £200 so i thought a brand new one with tags at £18 was pretty good.
the TS one i grant you should have been cheaper than £9 but hey i liked it and figured "i'm spending less than usual".

HSOM yes they did but had 2 children in buggy in tiny shop so needed to get out pronto.

perhaps i should put it down to a hard lesson learnt and see what i can make on Ebay from the TP dress?

Return them .

HurleySatOnMe · 23/06/2010 19:30

I agree you should try and take it back. I always try on if I can, as something's not a bargain if it looks hideous on or it doesn't fit.

OhCobblers · 23/06/2010 19:32

thats great - thanks ladies - i didn't think a charity shop would accept returns but will give it a go.
