But can't find anything to do with it on here. Does anyone know where to get one, if they work, etc etc?

I am not that vain but after two Csections I'd like reduce the 'Csection' step if possible.

and I know you stylish ladies will know........

dottyaboutstripes · 23/06/2010 12:24

do you mean this

mamaloco · 23/06/2010 12:34

wouldn't that be extremely hot to wear?
I leave in a hot country but am interested

Moneyspider · 23/06/2010 13:45

looks like a double oven glove dotty

dottyaboutstripes · 23/06/2010 13:50

I looked at these last year when I had my 6th baby (but first c-section)

I didn't buy one and maybe that's why my tummy is still massive

ZombiePlanB · 23/06/2010 17:22

ooo that looks interesting. Can't find a price though! I think the one I heard about was called a 'cinch'?

Anyone tried the Belly bandit?

I had a look on Google as I'd be interested too, but was somewhat put off by this comment by the RCM.

cocopear · 23/06/2010 18:04

I thought about buying one after my 2nd c section last year. but the thought of squishing my sore, swollen tummy was horrible!! surely it would hurt?

plus i made the mistake of wearing control pants a week or so afterwards and bled like mad afterwards am convinced they made me bleed more. shudder

god why are women under so much pressure to look perfect all the time ffs.

Moneyspider · 23/06/2010 18:12

I know of people using the agent provocateur post-natal corset which looks less painful!

sleepysox · 23/06/2010 20:43

I used a Belly Bandit after my C section- but 6 weeks after- not straight after like the website says you can. It did make my tummy shrink a few inches, but a few months after stopping wearing it, my tummy did expand a bit more, and it wasn't through weight gain. It was still smaller than before I started using it though.

It didn't stop the C section overhang at all BTW.
HTH

ZombiePlanB · 25/06/2010 10:25

hummmm......even a bit of help would be nice.

Any one else? Anyone admit to trying The Cinch?

I am 29 and 5'4 and weigh 7st 11. i still have the overhang and thought that exercising wouldn't help. I started doing sit ups, 100 in the morning and 100 after work and after 2 months I noticed a difference. Still have the overhang though! I have became used to it and have even called it Terry!

superv1xen · 25/06/2010 11:14

yeah same here ethy, i dont think it ever completely goes away i am 5 foot 2 and the same weight as u! but i do agree that exercise does help. pilates is very good for tummy-flattening.

pinemartina · 25/06/2010 16:14

I got this from ebay and wore it for a couple of weeks starting 4 weeks after my 2nd c section.

It felt hot and showed under clothes.I think it probably helped my uterus to contract down and speeded up blood loss, but I found it became something I wanted to leave behind as I healed - like support stockings!

I still have 2 stone to lose to get back to my post baby weight - 5'6 and 10st 7 - but my tummy is like a deflated balloon! Overhang looks drastic too.

Am looking into getting a custom made corset when I have lost the weight...

ZombiePlanB · 26/06/2010 20:22

pinematina - those are bargainous compared to the Cinch or the belly bandit. Thanks!

So it might suck the belly in but not stop the overhang. I think it's going to be a worse over hang this time. Lord know how bad it will be if I persuade dh to go for dc3!

Now I have three choices...... can't decide what to do. Maybe if I buy the expensive one I'll feel so guilty I'll have to wear it.

on reading another thread I rememebered my Spanx underwear. Am going to try wearing that first to see how I get one. also found lots of cheap abdominal supports without catchy names that are from medical sites....
