Can anyone point me in the direction of some attractive flat sandals that are COMFORTABLE?

The only thing I can bear to wear is my silver Birkenstocks which are super-comfy but do look a bit big and clumpy with certain outfits.

Where can I find something lovely and a bit more 'now' that I will be able to tolerate wearing? I have a nice pair of white leather flipflops with a butterfly on the front but the sole is so thin and hard, they really hurt after a while.

Help!

IMO, for flat shoes to be comfy/good for your feet, they MUST have arch support

I think you're right Jamie, fitflops are getting prettier. What does arch support look like in a sandal? Does anything other than Birkies/fitflops have it?

trouble is, they aren't all that fashionable. There was a thread a while back about sandals you cab run around after a child in. Were some nice ones on there - as I recall.

Scholl Bimini sandals (in patent black or white - red look gorgeous but seem to be permanently out of stock) are v comfy and make a nice change from Birkenstocks IMO.

I bought these from Next and they have been soooo comfy from day one (and I have sensitive feet, struggle to find comfy sandals every year). I am even thinking of buying a few pairs (they have different colours) to keep me going!

I have those too Polgara2 and agree with everything you say. I have them in gold and in black and am thinking about buying another pair to put away for next year!
