Holy Mazookas - 34F, can you recommend me any bras?

I've just measured myself on this and I've got a 34F. I've been a 34B all my life but have put on weight in the last year due to illness and other things. Well, they actually look a lot better - fuller but they hurt and I can't not wear a bra anymore like in the olden days.

So I can't believe I'm really that big, they don't look huge to me at all and dp can't believe it either, but I'm going to go out bra shopping tomorrow and want to know the best ones and if they come up true to size in the different ranges you have tried mainly because I can't be fagged faffing around in changing rooms.

Oh and, can you reassure me that 34f is not really that big please?

34F? I laugh in the face of 34F! try 34H

seriously, get thee to bravissimo....

moragbellingham · 21/06/2010 21:16

Bravissimo.
I like Freya bras and don't tend to wear anything else these days.

moragbellingham · 21/06/2010 21:18

And clothes too!

Yep - you need to be properly measured to confirm. Don't bother going to M&S - Bravissimo all the way.

I am not a big lady (size 10-12) but am normally 32E and have gone up to 34FF in pregnancy.

MmeLindt · 21/06/2010 21:21

Bravissimo.

Go and get "measured" there. They don't actually measure you, just size you up and give you bras to try until you get the right one. Throw away your measuring tape.

HonestyBox · 21/06/2010 21:21

Thanks - will try those tho def want to try on in the shop as I can't really believe I'm that size.

Try a shop called Leia- they are also on line - very good selection of Fantasie and Freya bras - i believe both are made by same people but freya are much "prettier" if one -meaning me - can have a pretty bra at a 32FF!

jennylindinha · 21/06/2010 21:45

Ha! I'm a 34H and would love to be a 32F like in my pre-childbirth days... However, I can recommend these lovely Debenhams bras which have a high cotton content and are rather pretty. They are very comfy and have cute matching knickers too. They also go up to a 34H - yay!

Lots more choice of styles in your size though I like the fact that they are not as "built up" as some of the Bravissimo bras I have and so are more comfy in the summer. Happy shopping!

sunchild77 · 21/06/2010 21:48

Go to Bravissimo and then buy your bras online from here www.brastop.com
Loads of choice, great sale and regular offers.

Recommend it to everyone

chrysothei · 21/06/2010 23:12

the best bra I have worn is by Fantasie. It's called Belle, half cup and you can get it from figleaves.com or in department stores. It's not really pretty but not ugly either and good for every day wear

jasmeeen · 21/06/2010 23:25

32G here (eek!) and can recommend both freya and fantasie. Also Ballet do a some nice ones.

Have a fab sports bra from Royce and I've put quite a few brands through their paces .

KristinaM · 22/06/2010 00:54

i am 32F, having gone down a few sizes once i stopped bf

go to bravissimo to get fitted

Oumasrusks · 22/06/2010 07:57

I also recommend Bravissimo. It's the only place I buy my bras (I'm a 30 G). All my bras are Freya ones from Bravissimo but after seeing all the recommendations for Fantasie I'm going to get myself some Fantasie ones in my next order.

piratecat · 22/06/2010 08:04

Fantasie Belle
Fantasie Helena
Fantasie Cally

i am 34e and these bras fit fab, after much research.

ex rigby and peller employee here

piratecat · 22/06/2010 08:07

yes would add i only like the balcony style in all fantasie bras, the full cup, on me is too full. balcony is still good coverage and gives a sexy shape.

chrysothei · 22/06/2010 11:15

I echo piratecat - I can't usually wear balcmony styles but the fantasie full cups do seem to be really full

PersonalEnglandCoach · 22/06/2010 11:17

Pah!! I laugh at you all...

NinthWave · 22/06/2010 11:17

Freya Arabella. Excellent support and shape, last forever too - I've got 3 of them!

ticktockclock · 22/06/2010 11:26

Yes going to Bravisimmo to get fitted is a good idea, however I do buy from these guys (many similar ranges) and they are sooooooo much cheaper and they always have deals. Not only that if you used Quidco you get a nice chunk of cashback.

BaronessBomburst · 22/06/2010 11:28

Try 32 J for size then!! And I really recommend Bravissimo. Fantasie and Freya are my favourites for best shape and support but you really must try them on to get the best fit and a wow cleavage.

Website is www.bravissimo.com and you can check to see where your nearest shop is. You can phone them too for advice - and they're really well trained so can usually fit you over the phone.

sue52 · 22/06/2010 11:49

Bravissimo Rigby and Peller

HonestyBox · 22/06/2010 16:35

Thanks for the kind responses and for all the fab info.

I can't get to Bravissimo until I do a trip to London so I think I will have to brave the changing rooms and try on a few different sizes but I least I have somewhere to start now.

I am currently wearing my tankini top as a bra as it's all that feels comfy so I need to get my not so massive 34F chest down to the department store asap.

FolornHope · 22/06/2010 16:48

i like the hedona for a smoothing effect and the fantasie balconette one

smokinaces · 22/06/2010 19:56

I'm a 36FF and find Freya bras and Debenhams Gorgeous bras the best - supportive but pretty, wash well and last. The Freyas can be bought cheaper online (such as ebay) but the gorgeous range starts at £12, which is bargainous really!
