i'm being a bridesmaid in August, and the knees-up afterwards involves bouncy castles and the like! lol

anyway, I think i'm going to be too hot/restricted in my bridesmaid dress all day so would like something nice to change into for the reception

I never bare my arms so it needs to be either long sleeve, or something I could wear with a little shrug or cardigan type thing

I am not particularly fashion conscious, so I'd prefer something fairly classic that I could get a lot of wear out of. I have no idea what "shape" I am but I have a saggy tummy that really needs hiding!!! lol

if you can help me i will send you some vegan chocolate brownies (they're nice! no...relly, they are!)

I love missions, but tell us more. Are you tall or short? Dark or fair? What size are you? And what's the biggest bit of you - boobs, tummy or hips?

Size and budget?

thisisyesterday · 21/06/2010 21:49

ooh sorry, hadn't checked back here.
knew i'd miss vital info out!

i am about 5'8, dark hair but fairly pale skin, size 14, big boobs!

budget-wise, well, obviously inexpensive would be good! but I could prob stretch to about £80-£100 for the perfect dress

ooh and if it's in a high-street store that wouldbe good as i could try it on first (not an absolute necessity though)

this is classic, no bra strap moments, hides shoulders and could be worn in the day as well. Add a sparkly cardi (will hunt for one in a moment.)

Any good?

racingheart · 21/06/2010 22:09

this? Bit autumnal but it has sleeves and drapes in the right places and could be worn anywhere. I have one pretty similar and it gets loads of compliments whenever I wear it. They are very flattering, forgiving dresses. But is purple not summery enough?

oooh i like the phase eight one. and in the sale too..!

Sorry - wrong link on the first one. It's lovely but doesn't hide shoulders and too dressy to wear a lot. I meant this one

clarebear1 · 21/06/2010 22:28

Maxi dresses are slimming?...

racingheart · 21/06/2010 22:58

Phase eight version is nicer cut and very cheap in sale, as thisisyesterday said.

KristinaM · 22/06/2010 00:56

i tried on that phase eight dress in store. lovely on the front but VERY CLINGY on rear

racingheart · 22/06/2010 11:33

Then maybe the Kaliko version is better, as it's empire line so flows over the bumpier bits.
