Semi-Permanent Hair Colour-Which one??

At the grand old age of 42 and being in "change" mode (not THE change mode) I have gone from shoulder length hair to short, layered style.
This, unfortunately has exposed the grey hairs I have been hiding for some time.

I have mid brown boring hair although it does have natural highlights.
I know fi I coulour it,these will be lost but hey-no more grey.

So-which should I choose,I haven't bought hair colour since I was 15 (shaders and toners for those old enough to remember} and there are so many choose from.

Any reccommendations or conversely andy "don't blardy touch it" comments?

there is a thread with lots of tips somewhere. i have tried lots of semi permanents, and like the basic casting one, can find in superdrug. i have lots of grey!! Also, i have found the boots botanics range to be really good.

I've tried loads (probably all of them?) of semi-permanents. I wouldn't go near Nice & Easy "Mahogany" That's my best tip unless you would like vibrant orange hair. All the L'Oreal and Garnier ones are pretty good and much of a muchness. Go for a colour that appears to be much lighter than your original colour if you just want to cover the grey
