Uniqlo straight leg jeans?

Don't like my bootleg jeans anymore, so tried on some Topshop Marthas today (as recommended on here)but they are too low cut for me.

Does anyone have the Uniqlo ones (they are on offer), and if so how high waisted are they? And what is the difference in fit between these and these?

Oh, I would love to know too! May I lurk, please?

More the merrier PDG! And WTF is with the sizing on them? Am a size 12/14 pear shape and as there is no Uniqlos outside London (hint hint) looks like will have to bloody order one in every effin size!

I don't have either of those styles, but do have an older pair of straight-leg mid-rise. They are great - much more coverage than the Topshop Martha (I also have a pair of those from a few years ago), but nowhere near Simon Cowell-esque - a good compromise for a young 38-year-old!

I'm an 8-10, and found that the 27in waist fitted but the 28 was better as after dd my flabby bits flop over the top of anything that's remotely tight! I pull them in a bit with a belt if I'm having a slim day, but can also wear without and belt and they don't fall down, as they are not starting too low.

Looking at the links you've posted I think I might go and get some more!

If I measure the narrowest bit of my waist it's 26, by the way, which means you probably need to go for something an inch or two bigger than your actual waist size (if that makes sense).

MooMinCow · 18/06/2010 14:17

hmm well just measured myself and waist is 29/30 inch but hips/bum are 41/42 so what do you reckon daisyj? Order a 29 and 30?

Yes, I reckon so, as they're not too mean in he hips and thighs. They're such good value, and I got the hem of mine altered (shorty) in store for about £2.50 on the same day! I don't know how far from London you are, but it's almost worth the price of a train ticket just to trawl the store. My DH got practically his entire wardrobe there this year for less than £150.

Thanks, daisy, from me too!!

I do love the stuff in there. My parents live in north-west London so am often down in school hols... don't know if I should just wait a few weeks and then just have a big shop there!

If anyone from Uniqlo HQ is reading this, please, please pretty please open some stores outside London? Birmingham or Milton Keynes would suit me perfectly

...and maybe a collection of say age 5+ kids clothes would be nice also!

I have a pair of the straight ones from Uniqlo. The waist is a lot higher than the Topshop Marthas (of which I also have a pair), the leg is wider then the Marthas too. It is not too high a waistband, comfortable and flattering. The Marthas on the other hand are very low and can only be worn with long tops and even then I am always pulling them up which is a shame as I like the cut of them otherwise.
