Help me find a fashionable but not cheap looking suit for my DS (16) prom next week. Trendy grey if poss, don't want to buy on line/2nd hand/hire or spend more than £100 ish.
Thank you

Debenhams could be worth a visit (for some reason, link won't work - go to debenhams, kids, age 15-16, Occasionwear) (though I can only see a grey jacket there, not trousers ). The linen stuff looks nice, but not sure if it would be formal enough?

sharbiebowtiesarecool · 16/06/2010 13:34

Thanks - he's probably in a mans size though.But I will have a look.

navy linen.
Dark grey jacket - and though I couldn't spot the matching trousers on the overall page, they're linked to further down on that page).

Ah yes, forgot to ask if he needed men's size. Those go up to age 16 though, so might work.

Red Herring
Reduced, but still slightly over budget

Thanks (I should have put that in my post).

If you have an outlet village near you could try that, or TK Max.

Bought my DS a great suit last year from French Connection, jacket reduced from about £250 to about £35 & trousers about £30 but that was at the end of the sale & he is tall and slim (seems they always have the 28 and 30 inch waists left on the trouser sizes & their trouser legs are unfinished which is a bonus).

Or, good old M & S, one of DS's sixth form suits is still looking great two years on.

Thanks lady - FC have a nice website don't they.We have TKMaxx here but I haven't seen any suits in there.
My DS must be quite big for his age - he is at least a 36" waist and about 5'10.

I have seen some very nice suits by florence and fred (tesco) in my shop..they clean well too. I am always surprised how stylish some of them are.
