I've got several pairs of fitflops and I've never had a problem - your pair must be faulty. No receipt is usually a problem. Do you still have the bag per chance? If not I'd still take 'em back I've always found that JL have a second to non approach to customer service.

I always thought that the toe post on Fitflops was a bit 'rough' - have you tried buying toepost covers to stop them rubbing, Scholl make some?

tulpe · 15/06/2010 21:28

JL may well exchange without receipt. I was in there about a month ago with DH and DCs. Was returning some items but wanted to pick out replacement items first. I handed DH the receipt for the goods - thinking I was being wise as I was getting DCs to try alternative sizes on. Low and behold, DH lost receipt in 5 mins flat. I was so embarrassed (even crawled around on shop floor beneath racks of boys shorts etc to try and locate) but the assistant was great and exchanged without question.

I'm like Ciderella's ugly sisters when it comes to Fitflops, my feet just don't get down them. Ugly things anyway.

brimfull · 15/06/2010 21:34

yes was going to try the gel cover things but haven't had a chance to get any
it's the start of the sequin part here. not the actual toe post that rubs so not sure they would help much

I have had mine a couple of weeks and they really hurt across the top for about a week.I was worried but they are comfy now. I dont have the sequin ones though. I would email fit flop head office direct and tell them whats happening, see what they say , after all there whole advertising campaign revolves around comfort..if they are not then surely a reason for money back?

brimfull · 15/06/2010 22:21

have emailed them
will see what they say

take them back ggirl. I had a pair of jeans, I had worn them a few weeks, paid cash and had no receipt. Then they went a bit faulty! I took them back and they changed them no problem.

brimfull · 15/06/2010 22:26

JL did?

I've just ordered a pair online today and I'm worried now.

The first time I wore Birkenstocks it was like standing on an upturned plug for the first few days - just agony, but I persevered and soon my feet were Birkenstock-shaped, and I feel like I came out of the womb wearing them now. I am worried about the toe-posts of the fitflops though. My MBTs took a bit of breaking in as well, and they still make my toes tingle and burn sometimes.

(note to self - stop buying 'healthy' shoes and just buy 'unhealthy' but attractive high heels in future. )
