Dress for Henley - must be below the knee!

Hello, I have been invited to the Henley Regatta and I have nothing to wear. I need a dress which, according to the website, is below the knee and does not have any split. Any ideas anyone? (Can you believe that women aren't allowed to wear trousers?!)

I am 5'6 ish and a size 10.

You only need a dress below the knee if you'll be going into the Members' Enclosure bit (can't remember what it's called - it's been about six years since I last went).

It's brilliant fun, by the way. And the rowers are always nice to look at

It depends how much you want to spend really... Also, what's your normal style? Do you do "floaty" or would you prefer fitted?

As long as it is below the knee you can get away with pretty much anything. Skirt and jacket also do the trick. Only need the "knee" thing if you are going into the Stewards' enclosure, if you are going into Regatta enclosure or other areas you can pretty much slum it in whatever you fancy. I've been in stewards in a skirt and flip flops or deck shoes in the past, blazer etc and seen ladies in things resembling ballgowns and gardening skirts and anything in between.

Best advice is to wear shoes that are comfy and take something warm as it is often freezing! Have fun!

Thank you BDSM. We are in the Stewards Enclosure which must be why it has to be below the knee. I can't wait!

I would spend up to £100 and I think I'd prefer fitted. I like bright colours and I'd like something I can wear to a wedding in August too.

I am so unimaginative! I did like that Bravissimo one which is on another thread but I have very small boobs so it may not look very good on me!

Have just had this issue with Ascot. For longer lengths (but not actual long frocks), Monsoon and LK Bennett are both good

Anything here?

Stewards' Enclosure, of course .

I'll have a little browse...

BelleDameSansMerci · 14/06/2010 21:48

I have looked at over 1000 dresses and none that I'd think would fit the bill! The only one I liked wasn't available in a 10. Grrrr.

Will see if I can think of anywhere else to look.

I would wear a pretty maxi dress and a big flower in my hair.

This?

Pretty

Good if you don't have big boobs

Bright pink

Thank you! I love the Oasis one, Ewe. Thanks for helping me, I think maxi dress and flower in hair is the way forward.

If you change your mind about a maxi dress, how about this from Brora?
