BF-friendly clothes hunt

DC2 is due in early September and am trying to seek out a couple of bits that aren't specialist (no need for clothes with flaps once bfing is finished), that will wash well and that are relatively stylish. Maybe a little pre-emptive, but am keen to get bits whilst still in the land of the living. Made more than a few faux-pas last time round due to shopping with mewing DS and competitively-tired DH in tow.

I can't get away with wearing most of my normal bits as, if last time is anything to go by, my boobs swell to gargantuan proportions.

So far, have found this which I quite like. Any other suggestions? 5 4", usually a 10, dark hair and pale skin.

TIA.

I am not sure if the shops have them in this summer but last year there were these vests with a tighter vest underneath and a larger baggy one over the top. I found them useful for discrete feeding. Try New Look maybe. And try River Island and H*M for lovely cheap scarves atm.

won't that drive you mad fiddling with the buttons or having to wriggle it all the way up?

I ended up wearing bf vests and putting a loose t-shirt / floaty top over them.

Vest tops/stretchy t-shirt tops and waterfall cardigans are my top tips. M&S do a good range of waterfall cardies which you can use to drape round you to hide any skin if bf while out and about. The ones I have bought have lasted me through pregnancy and well beyond.

I would steer away from anything with buttons personally, but it depends on what you feel comfy in. I prefer to hitch things up/sideways than unbutton, as I always end up gaping somewhere otherwise.

Ah yes, I got a grey waterfall cardigan from M&S for about £15 and it was fab.

Might do Meglet - previous experience dictates that I probably won't be able to get the buttons up so will end up with a BF vest underneath anyway. You may be right though - a little fiddly.

Vests sound most suitable monkeysmama - will keep my eyes peeled. Did a H+M and River Island trawl at big retail centre nearby and managed not to spot any scarves. Will need to re-visit!

Ohh - am clearly on the right track here - have one M+S waterfall cardy and an Isabella Oliver one which I've barely worn in either of my pregnancies and didn't think to use when bf-ing last time. Foolish.

The problem I have is that I like wearing dresses and struggle to find any that fit the bf-ing bill. Must I resign myself to no dresses for 6 months? Can't remember how I got round this last time.

Vest tops under normal tops/jumpers and lots of wrap dresses.

The only dresses I have managed are stretchy wrap dresses, where you can discreetly unholster a boob and feed. Otherwise they do tend to be off limits until feeding during the day has stopped.
