okay....i do but dh clothes only because he has no interest what so ever and would wear the same things until they are completely threadbear and in his job he does have to look relatively smart.

thing is i'm probably ageing him before his time with my choice of shops and he works with a lot of people in their mid 20's, hes 36 and he looks like what he is..slightly stressed dad with three small children!

i buy his clothes from boden, gap and m&s and to be honest hes just not looking sharp enough.

he has started wailing in the mornings about his clothes and i really need to sort him out.

hes not a useless man with no ideas of his own, he just hates shopping and has a very busy job and i want to be helpful

please tell me where to get clothes for him for those who do the same for their dh

tia

my Dh is the same but 10 yeaar older than yours. I tend to buy his clothes from Fatface, Next, Monsoon, Burton.

ShesEverSoFamous · 13/06/2010 12:39

D2, Top Man and River Island. I'm not much help, DH is early 20s.

GeekOfTheWeek · 13/06/2010 12:48

My dh is 27.

I buy the majority of his clothes as I have far better taste

River island, topman, next, gap, matalan (yes really!) and occasionaly, new look.

If it is a gift then I go into a local shop that sells really cool designer stuff.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 13/06/2010 12:50

charity shops, mostly.

wideratthehips · 13/06/2010 13:00

thanks for all your replies.

i forgot about fatface and monsoon

good ideas.

i buy a lot of my clothes and the childrens from ebay and charity shops and i'm sure i could get him stuff from ebay but was not sure of the names to search for.

what about for looking really smart? where else is there on the high street for men to shop at 36 can he get away with clothes from white stuff?!

DH wears a suit for work so I don't get involved in that really, or in buying shirts etc.
He is crap at buying himself anything casual to wear though so I've taken to buying things for him. Gap, Boden and Fatface are the usual suspects.

janeite · 13/06/2010 13:25

I hate men's clothes from places like Fatface, White Stuff etc.

Dp tends to just wear jeans and t-shirts from places like Gap, or trousers and shirts from Monsoon. He has no interest in clothes whatsoever, so tends to wear jeans and a t-shirt, jeans and a jumper or work trousers and a shirt - nearly everything in shades of blue!

Earhart · 13/06/2010 13:32

Racing Green always quite nice though now the discount outlet store nearby has closed maybe we can't afford full price

pooter · 13/06/2010 13:36

lands end are good for basics (my dh (34yrs) was still wearing his secondary school uniform until very recently, so i HAVE to buy him clothes although i know its pathetic!)

Crazycatlady · 13/06/2010 13:38

My DH has to look smart for work but not always in a suit. He finds lovely smart jeans at Ted Baker. French Connection is usually a reasonable bet for non-work shirts. Paul Smith for fine-knit jumpers that can be worn over a shirt or t-shirt. Abercrombie & Fitch or Superdry for casual wear.

Shoes make such a difference too. Oliver Sweeney is good.

Whoamireally · 13/06/2010 13:47

Ditto what crazycatlady says. My hubby is the same age as yours, and would rather die painfully than wear anything which does not have a label on it So his shirts and jeans have to be from a 'premium' brand like crazycatlady has suggested a few.

Pants and stuff - M&S is fine.

Tootiredforgodtyping · 13/06/2010 13:48

white stuff, fatface and monsoon

SloanyPony · 13/06/2010 19:58

Gap and Boden. He is old. (35)

thatsnotmymonkey · 13/06/2010 20:04

Casual-Asos has a good selection of mens cloths, Urban Outfitters, Top Man and Muji

Suits- House of Fraser

Shoes- Onitsuka Tiger trainers, converse trainers, clarks originals

If we are very flush APC has lovely mens clothes

MrsC2010 · 13/06/2010 20:33

Shirts from Crew Clothing, T&G, Joules, Boden etc.

Jumpers Fat Face, White Stuff.

Jeans from Next normally as he needs a stupidly long inside leg.

Suits John Lewis or similar.

Random bits from M&S etc

dexter73 · 13/06/2010 20:42

My dh quite likes Zara.
