Help me fill the gaping void in my shoe wardrobe

This may be a bit premature, but this little spate of vile weather has got me thinking about what I'm meant to wear on my feet when it is raining and a bit miserable but I don't want to resort to something deeply sensible.

At the moment I've been making do with Converse (leaky), Lovely Russell and Bromley flat knee highs (which then get wet and I get desperately worried about them losing their shape/hue etc), pumps (even more leaky) and, as a last resort, Uggs (deeply impractical when raining and I don't really like them that much anyway). We walk a lot and are outside a lot, so it is an issue that must be resolved!

The obvious answer seems to be some kind of ankle boot, which I'm aware isn't really a seasonal choice. Any suggestions?

Current shoe obsession largely due to being 6 months PG with DC2; can't bring myself to get any more maternity wear.

Indulge me please!

On a completely separate note, if anyone can recommend some non-specialist BF-ing friendly but stylish clothes, I'd be very happy!

Lizardskin / snakeskin 'Jimmy Choo for Hunter' wellies?

£££ obviously but definitely not 'sensible'!

What about some brogues?

redllamayellowllama · 12/06/2010 13:15

They're really quite special. Although a little more than I was thinking price-wise. I'd probably end up not wearing them for fear of damaging them.

Any more?

Over budget, but I want these for splashing about in puddles

redllamayellowllama · 12/06/2010 13:20

The brogues are also lovely and very reasonably priced. Haven't heard of Kate Kanzier and am impressed.

Brogues were a godsend when I was pregnant. As long as I could get someone else to do them up.

redllamayellowllama · 12/06/2010 13:24

Me too! I love them. I really, really love them.

I agree that they are over-priced. Can I just check why? Is it because they are wellies with buttons on?

I don't know why... perhaps the buttons are ancient Roman coins

Bit cheaper here

That Kate Kanzier site is amazing! Never seen the name before, I love the ballerinas, very reasonably priced too.
