Oh wise MNers, does anyone know a dress similar to this please? hereMy DD (19, 5ft 7in blonde, size 8/10) has an eye on something similar for a ball coming up but hasn't the budget for the real thing which is Diane Von Firstenberg/Matches I believe. Eternal gratitude if anyone knows of anything similar

Will send her the link tho'. Thanks

She checked out Oasis but didn't see anything.

That is nice too, AB, but she told me she'd checked out Oasis, Top Shop, Urban Outfitters, French Connection. Oh, and the Outnet too it seems. I fear this will be a very long process

AlaskaNebraska · 09/06/2010 17:58

i must admit i find some of these dresses bogging

olderandwider · 09/06/2010 17:59

AB, the jaeger is nice -but very pricey (guess who is paying). I will suggest JL - as they do have a big range now online. Merci encore.

Well she is usually more daring, but I think the no-bare shoulders diktat is cramping her style a lot. I could suggest a little shrug but that would just open up a second can of worms/massive online hunt.

Or this or this or this?

tethersend · 09/06/2010 19:27

Or buy something vintage like this?

angelene · 10/06/2010 14:06

Get Cutie? They are in Brighton and have FABULOUS prints.

angelene · 10/06/2010 14:07

Sorry sorry - it's Get Cutie here

olderandwider · 10/06/2010 17:39

Thankyouthankyouthankyou all. Tethersend some quality stuff there and love the vintage one! Events have now gone out of my hands, as DD has decided to try and hire a dress and rock her inner Sex and the City 2 girl (I know I know, she is 19 not 49 but wotcanyado?)
In the meantime I have bought 5 gorgeous dresses from DP and will show them to her when she comes home to try on the hired items in case we have a fashion meltdown situation.(Is anyone still interested here? I am boring myself) What I got was
thisthismedia.dorothyperkins.com/wcsstore/DorothyPerkins/images/catalog/501142 54_thumb.jpg this]] this this and one more that isn't on the website. Oh and the bare shoulder thing is now Not Important, hence the choices I made. And now I will praying one of these frocks hits the spot.
