If you'd bought £300 D&G ones that wouldn't have happened

ruckyrunt · 07/06/2010 10:22

i had a pari of oakleys - many years ago and they were supposd to be indestructable, you could run over then in a car. But give them to a three year old and they would be broken in minutes. I couldn't afford to replace them then, noe they are certainly out of my price range....

coderrooo · 07/06/2010 10:24

yeah right.
i had the last pair for gasp 2 years!

I have had my cheapo superdrug ones for a year!

Dh bought Ray Bands this year. They are already on their second lenses.

Kids and sunglasses grrrrr

YoginiPinkBikini · 07/06/2010 11:01

There is a sliding scale. The cheaper the glasses the longer they last

coderrooo · 07/06/2010 11:02

these were ££££ for me

£20!

YoginiPinkBikini · 07/06/2010 11:05

See that's why. You need the Primark £1 ones. They'll last forever and ever. You'll hate them in the end

largeginandtonic · 07/06/2010 11:11

I have Tesco £5 ones too. They are too big though.

Dh precious about his. They are put away carefully and cleaned.

Mine get chucked in the nappy bag, under the pushchair.

Mine are still going strong.

New ones then Coderoo?

Clary · 07/06/2010 11:12

You need to buy the cheapest ones you can find and this is why.

I usually get a £10 pair from M&S.

Mind you my current ones I have had at least 2 years

uggmum · 07/06/2010 11:13

I had some lovely sunglasses. Wore them once, placed them on the back of the pushchair whilst I put ds in the car.
Folded the pushchair and snapped them in half. I was gutted.
Now have a lovely pair from m&s for £5.

coderrooo · 07/06/2010 11:16

i put them ON my bag by the front door
kids go to school
find them broken ON the stairs

silverfrog · 07/06/2010 11:16

how on earth are you all trashing your sunglasses (or how are your children trashing them)?!

I have had the same pair for 8 years now. Travelled the world with them squashed in hand luggage, chucked them in the buggy, often on the floor in the car, etc etc.

Barely a scratch on them.

SoupDragon · 07/06/2010 11:18

Are you sure it wasn't the cat?

coderrooo · 07/06/2010 11:18

Clary · 07/06/2010 11:19
