Just bought this dress in town today and although it looks lovely on, I'm still not sure about it. i think the problem is I don't know what shoes, bag etc to wear with it. Any ideas? Ideally I don't want to spend too much.

Thanks in advance.

Mmmm...maybe no one likes the dress. In fairness the webpic is not great. I'm wearing it or was planning on wearing it to a christening if that helps. Other dress ideas also welcome

wineismysaviour · 06/06/2010 20:04

posted lots of ideas for shoes and bags on the 'will someone try this dress on for me' thread......

LittleBoPeeps · 06/06/2010 20:10

Great - thank you wine! I'll browse the shoes and bags on that thread now

I wood go for wooden/tan accessories
wooden sandal and necklace

LittleBoPeeps · 06/06/2010 20:16

ggirl - would you go for flat sandals or heels? I have some wooden wedge sandals from Next that I tried with it and it looked ok, but perhaps a bit clumpy. Maybe a matching necklace would help bring the shoes into the outfit?

Wine - I'm still looking for the other thread..

def heels
dress is too long for flats imo
flats only for casual and if the dress is above knee or just on knee
can you link to next heels

cornsilkcottagecheese · 06/06/2010 20:25

agree with ggirl you need heels with that dress.

They're not from this season so not on the website but I have found a pic of some identical ones on ebay!

yes they're nice
slighlty darker than I was thinking but if you find a nice dark wooden necklace

LittleBoPeeps · 06/06/2010 21:09

Yes it'd be good to wear the shoes I have already got and then focus my efforts on finding some wooden accessories to go with. As it happens I also have platinum shoes in my wardrobe (wine's suggestion) but they are rather uncomfortable so I would prefer to wear the wedges on that front.

Thanks again, I feel better about the dress purchase now, which was rather hurried as DS was getting grizzly - how I do miss shopping pre-motherhood!
