Speaking of shorts -- any other ladies out there refuse to wear them?

I HATE shorts on women, with a passion. Think they always look shabby and display one's thunder thighs and lardy arse in a way a skirt of the same length never does.

They're OK for playing sport in/over bikini bottoms at the beach, but otherwise. . .

Skirts, dresses and trousers only for me. Anyone else?

I don't like to wear shorts beacause I don't think they flatter me but can't say I mind them on others if they fit, suit, etc.

I wear skirts in summer.

beanlet · 06/06/2010 18:16

No, not fat; very PG at the moment, but otherwise throughout my life have never been bigger than a size 12, 5'7", no cellulite, grew up in Australia and I STILL HATE SHORTS!!!!! I just think they are super unflattering, and noone would wear them off the beach except that for some unknown reason they are currently "in fashion".

I saw a lovely young girl in town the other day wearing a pair of coral shorts. She was 20ish, slim, tanned, toned, perfect in every way except you could see her cellulite from behind.

That slim girl type of cellulite but cellulite nonetheless.

belgo · 06/06/2010 18:50

and I wore shorts while pregnant in the summer.

foureleven · 06/06/2010 18:53

Has anyone mentioned that thing where a shorts wearing woman will stop mid walk, half cock one leg and pull front-shorts-wedgy down before continuing the walk... eww.

For that reason, shorts are wrong. Not because of cellulite... come on people we all have it.. lets not fall in to the meeeja trap of being scared of it.

MiniMarmite · 06/06/2010 18:56

Even when at my smallest and slimmest I refuse to wear shorts. My legs are only presentable from the knee down!

Lots of people look great in them though, just not me.

pointydog · 06/06/2010 18:57

I have never seen a woman pulling her shorts from her crack

bishboschone · 06/06/2010 19:01

I am not into telling people what they can and can't wear but I have never really seen anyone look nice in shorts. I wear city short type things but only because I work somewhere very hot. I am size 8 and I know I look 'ok' but cAN look a whole lot better.

foureleven · 06/06/2010 20:36

pointydog, count your blessings

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 06/06/2010 21:48

Yep, seen that too. Not nice...

duckyfuzz · 06/06/2010 21:50

I don't wear them because they don't suit my fat legs, but would love to be able to and when I can I will
