Anyone want some Moroccan Oil?

Bousy · 05/06/2010 18:12

Someone on here (sorry, can't remember who) was recently extolling the benefits of Moroccan Oil for difficult to manage hair. I eagerly ordered some from ebay - 3 x 10ml bottles (cheapest way of doing it).

Sadly it doesn't do much for my crazily out of control hair - maybe it's beyond help (sob).

Anyway, I'm happy to pass on the other two 10ml bottles to anyone else who'd like to try it (free of charge). They're no use to me! Just leave me a contact email address and I'll get in touch and send it.

I use Moroccan Oil - I know how expensive it is. Why don't you resell it on ebay and recoup some money back?

Bousy · 05/06/2010 18:31

I did think of that but I don't sell on ebay and can't be bothered to set up an account just for a few quid. Thought I'd pass it on to someone who can use it rather than leave it in the drawer for hundreds of years and eventually throw it out (I have form ).

whats it meant to do then?

HonestyBox · 05/06/2010 18:36

I would love to try one bottle if it's still going. Have been thinking about it for ages but never purchased as I also tend to gather unused mistakes products.

bellavita · 05/06/2010 18:37

It leaves your hair feeling soft and silky.

You need a tiny tiny amount, rub it into the palm of your hands and then run your hands through damp hair before drying. I also do the same just before straightening. It protects your hair from staighteners too, so in effect you only need the one product.

I bought mine at Christmas and am not even half way down the bottle yet, so it is good value for money.

Surely, if you have bought from e-bay you have an account already?

OrmRenewed · 05/06/2010 18:37

It depends if it was the real stuff. Argan oil is the real thing - sometimes called Morocan oil but it isn't always the same stuff.

Bousy · 05/06/2010 19:01

HonestyBox you'd be welcome, just let me know how to get in touch with you.

bellavita I have an ebay account for buying, but I thought you needed a different sort of account for selling. Haven't really looked into it. Don't ebay take a significant percentage of anything you sell?

OrmRenewed - ingredients say 'Argan Oil' about halfway down, but don't let me force you

Have you seen this website for ideas for your hair? It's primarily for afro hair I think, but it might have something for you.

It might also be worth trying Elasticizer, although it's pretty expensive too.

Bousy · 05/06/2010 19:40

Oooh thanks bran - always interested in trying something new. What I really want is something that will turn my shoulder-length triangular hair into a smooth and sleek 40s-ish wavy style - something a bit like this. Haircuts seem to leave the shape unchanged, or to make it very thin and poker straight - I quite like the body, just not the shape. Will keep trying, thanks for the tips.

That website does sample sizes which is great fun. I don't have afro hair, I have rather limp celtic hair, but I might try some sample size shampoo bars. I also fancy some vanilla oil and the dark chocolate face mask. I haven't been on there for ages, but I was thinking about it the other day. The last time I went on it I went wild and ordered loads of different samples and still only spent about £15.

Do you have hair like Crystal Tips (are you even old enough to remember Crystal Tips and Alistair)? Perhaps the sapote and coconut pomade might tame it.

Bousy · 05/06/2010 22:34

Yes, that's me! Except her hair looks rather sleek and in good condition. Can't believe I'm jealous of Crystal Tips' hair, this is not good...

At least your hair isn't lilac/purple, or is it?

Quodlibet · 05/06/2010 23:06

Bousy have you tried Kerastase shampoo and conditioner? Their Lait Vital conditioner is amazing - worked miracles for me. It is expensive but really changes the way your hair behaves (now I sound like a brand ambassador - I'm not, honest!)

Bousy · 06/06/2010 09:00

Gratias tibi ago, Quodlibet - I usually use John Frieda but will give that a try!

You're welcome! Have sent you a mail. One more bottle available if anyone would like it - I think Honestybox put a marker down but no contact details as yet.

MrsDrOwenHunt · 06/06/2010 10:14

boots curl fixer is good btw x

Bousy · 06/06/2010 10:21

Can you find Kerastase in Boots, supermarkets etc? I don't live in UK but will be visiting soon so would like to get some. Thanks

Lulumaam · 06/06/2010 11:39

is it good for fine hair, that is quite damaged and tends to be dry at the ends?

Quodlibet · 06/06/2010 11:52

campocaro you can't get it in Boots, but you can buy it direct from hairdressers (toni and guy etc) OR it's cheaper mail-order from gorgeousshop.co.uk, dunno what their mail-order charges are outside the UK though.
