A boring question about summer feet

How do you avoid having hard, horn-like trotters and, at the same time, avoid blisters?

I am trying to walk much more this summer instead of taking the car on short trips and, having pumiced and scraped and moisturised, my feet are now in shreds ...

Ouch!

Generally I wear flattish loafers. I don't want to have to resort to socks and trainers.

What does everyone else do?

Moisturise. A lot. And have a good exfoliate. You'll probably notice a difference and have gorgeous looking feet in no time!

Thanks. Do you mean the moisturiser stops your shoes rubbing Feedmenow?

They look lovely and comfy, thanks Magdalena but unfortunately for me they are a bit too clompy (I have very spindly ankles - only bit of me that is thin mind you!) Will look at the rest of that website though....thanks again

bumping forlornly (with throbbing feet)

I find lightly dusting the inside of your shoes with talcum (or baby) powder stops friction (and blisters), really simple solution which makes an amazing difference.

cyb · 03/06/2010 08:31

my shoes do not do this to my feet. Sounds like you are wearing the wrong shoes for the job

Stillcounting · 03/06/2010 09:42

Thanks Chandon - I'm off to buy some talc immediately!!

Cyb, it happens with whatever shoes I wear (I think my feet must swell or something) [old lady emoticon] even though I swathe them in Micropore and/or Compede before I leave the house.

Admittedly though, I don't do flip flops or any sort of strappy sandal (which make me look like a bald kangaroo)

can you go somewhere like clarks and have your feet properly measured?

Stillcounting · 03/06/2010 10:46

Thanks NinjaC but I tend to buy my shoes too big if anything. (I did go up one size post pregnancy but I gave or threw all my old sized shoes away.) I think they just must swell up in the heat or some'at....
