Fake tan help please!

We have been invited to a posh do in July (a charity fundraising evening).

I have not yet decided what dress I will be wearing, but know that I would like to have a bit of colour on my skin and am after some advice please!

I have mid brown hair, and pale, freckly skin that doesn't tan well so I would like the fake tan to be pretty light, easy to apply (by myself) and not too likely to cause streaks.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Also are there any tips of how to apply fake tan well?

Thanks you for any help that you can offer to me!

Just rushed off to bathroom to get correct details.....Only got an upper body solution.....Clarins: Eau Lactee: Liquid Bronze Self Tanning for Face & Decollete (ie face & neck). AMAZING STUFF.

Its really, really subtle (I'm very very pale)....put on thin layer, in about 4 hours you look healthy. Used it for years (and other than one on occasion when I put some on, forgot and then put another layer on 2 hours later!) have never had a problem. I love this stuff!

Recommend you practice before hand. You have to reapply every two days but its so simple. and wash hands after!

(I am not on commission, by the way)

Good luck!

That sounds good for the top bit - thanks!

I'm guessing that face and neck needs a special one, so any ideas for shoulders, arms and legs?

Ambre solaire do a no streaks body mist and you can get one for the face too.
It is quite subtle, you probably need to do two applications for a healthy tan. The tan says it doesn't need rubbing in, but you definitely should. You can buy a tanning mit for £3 from superdrug and it is best to use that so your hands don't get brown!!

Actually Superdrug do a brilliant own brand spray tan too.

Great thanks!

That sounds more in my budget than Clarins (though I need to look my best, so will stretch the budget if necessary!)

I'll start with a trip to Superdrug!

Dont do it the night before. Start doing it now so you can get used to applying it.

The Ambre Solaire/garnier sprays are very good so is St Tropez (a lot rec the mousse). Use a facial one for the face.

Start exfoliating now - paying extra attention to the feet, knees, elbows, around arm pits, and a good all over the face and neck.

Apply a very light moisturiser to the feet, knees etc. Be very careful around the feet, only a light cover.

Blimey, it sounds very tricky to get it right!

Thanks for the top tips. Best get practising!
