Hi! I'm a fashion student working on a project for uni on lingerie shopping habits, particularly amonst women with kids or those planning on having some! If you could follow the link below and fill in the survey it would be a huuuuge help and I would really appreciate it!

Done!

janeite · 02/06/2010 21:12

Ugh - you will get far more attention if you lose the thing about Yummy Mummies.

LadyLapsang · 02/06/2010 21:55

Done, but do lose the yummy mummy tag.

wineismysaviour · 02/06/2010 21:57

I'm a yucky mummy with a wine habit, do I count?

I do have to agree-its a tad cringy! Though my tutor did think it sounded a bit better than my suggestion of "anyone fancy doing a survey on pants?" But thanks for doing my survey

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 03/06/2010 08:47

I agree, try again without the horrid yummy mummy crap. Please?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 03/06/2010 08:51

I'd try another thread with that exact title about the pants, I bet you get more luck!

Ha! Petty much? It's the exact same survey but you would only do it without 'yummy mummy' in the title? Wow.

Done.

Why do mothers have different lingerie requirements?

meandollie · 03/06/2010 11:53

Why is 'yummy mummy' insulting?? You're a mum, probably easy on the eye ... yes it's a cheesey phrase, but insulting? I think that's reading a little bit too much into it!

Done.

To all those who found the title offensive why did you open the thread in the first place?? Take a day off won't you?

cornsilkcottagecheese · 03/06/2010 14:31

I opened the thread because I thought someone was taking the piss.

MrsBadger · 03/06/2010 14:40

me too, cornsilk

meandollie · 03/06/2010 14:45

SGM what on Earth are you talking about?! Yes advertisers use it as a term to lure in mothers I am fortunately not too DENSE to notice (I really think you're a bit of a to make such a mean comment to someone you don't even know tbh).
Marketing ploys like this are used to reel in people by getting people to assiciate themselves and aspire to be part of the concept, I am aware of this. What I don't get is how you make the jump from this to the term itself being offensive, espesially when it's in a completely different and inocent context. ?

Please be sure to word it in such a way that us dense folk will understand.

cornsilkcottagecheese · 03/06/2010 14:48

You see what you started fifibunny?

meandollie · 03/06/2010 14:56

fifibunny didn't start this, to be fair was more the offence brigade

I thought it was a random marketeer who started a thread with a very similar title a couple of weeks back (and who also got a pasting over the use of the YM term).

I have done your survey because you are a sensible sort who wanted to call it a survey about pants . But your tutor needs to realise that "yummy mummy" a phrase that irritates the heck out of a lot of intelligent, articulate women who engage in a whole range of paid and unpaid work in and out of the home. And who happen to also have children.

wineismysaviour · 03/06/2010 18:15

done it, and not offended in the least...more offended I am now in the 35 plus age range...now that REALLY offends me.
