Usually Marks and Spencer or Primark (the latter certainly used to have a decent selection of plain, unfussy, comfy ones).

An independant lingerie shop - the sort where they fit the bra to you by assessing your shape, not just size

MayorNaze · 01/06/2010 16:30

ah now i add the crucial factor...no padding! NOW where do i buy titchy bras??!!

I've been known to buy them from the kid's section .

MayorNaze · 01/06/2010 16:35

i am not sure we have independent lingerie shops in the south west... but worth a thought...i can't quite bring mysel to buy teen bras...they are all unicorns and rainbows...

I'm sure you do - I live in the Midlands, and there's one in my tiny town, and one in each of the nearest big towns.
They tend to have more of a range than the standard shops ime.

By no padding, do you mean absolutely no thickness at all ? I favour a bit to prevent pokiness, and am currently wearing Elle McPherson balconette bras which are really pretty

MayorNaze · 01/06/2010 16:46

i do mean none at all but am beginning t think that perhaps i should give a balcony type thing a go...i usd to be a d cup pre dcs but am now an a and tbh it is a new and not especially thrilling experience

M & S have some lovely ones that start from an A cup with no padding,(have you noticed that anything under a D seems to have compulsory padding in most shops?)
selection

Clure · 01/06/2010 17:18

I'm an A cup and bought some nice Tshirt style bras' from peacocks about 4 years ago which are still going strong. They are very lightly moulded but not really padded (hate padded bra's) agree that lots of A cups seem to assume you want mega padded gel filled air pumped cups. Also another vote for m&s

Schulte · 01/06/2010 20:09

No bra at all? I have the same dilemma, and just having stopped bfing I am also now getting used to tiny skin flaps where I used to have boobs...

MayorNaze · 04/06/2010 08:21

well smack my ass and call me judy

i went to m&s

i got measured

i was in a 34A

I AM IN FACT A 34C

AND i now know about the Science Of The Bra

apparently all that padded/balcony business is for poor unfortunates like me who need, for example, a C cup to support the bottom of the nork...but cannot necessarily fill the rest of the cup

it was all very technical and surprsing but i get it now.

unfortunately i am still sans bras that fit as it took the best part of an hour to learn this an by then dd was getting antsy.

but i will return...

and i WILL have a decent bra that fits...i WILL!!!

hello! I always thought I was boobless,
and found am a 34c and with the right bra look quite va-va-voom.

Am big fan of Calvin Klein shaped (not padded, but moulded cups)bras, they are about 30 pounds each though, but last for years and years.

MayorNaze · 04/06/2010 08:33

next friday will be The Day Of The Bra...am stupidly excited...
