Why is my nose always red these days!? And what can I do about it?

In the winter it got red from the cold, now it seems to get red from the slightest irritation. It looks awful. What can I do to ideally prevent it in the first place, and if not to hide the redness?

Is it an age thing?

Could it be rosacea? Or broken blood vessels? The latter can be treated w/ laser or intense pulsed light. I would see a dermatologist.

Is it relevant that it's not constantly like this - only when my nose is cold or irritated? Might help with working out what it is?

sounds like you might have acne rosacea. Not like teenage acne, appears in older skin, more redness/bumpiness/open pores in a typically butterfly shape centering on nose and spreading out onto cheeks. Can be caused by extremes of temperature, alcohol, spicy food etc.

It doesn't sound extreme but I would see a good therapist/dermatologist. Think you have to treat your skin with products for sensitive skin

Have you tried all theusual stuff ie quit booze and spicy food wear spf etc see if this makes a difference

Don't drink anyway and I do always use suncream. I think my nose is quite irritated due to hayfever so maybe that's causing it (am on anti-histamines but it's still a bit itchy!)

So maybe I should see if it calms down after hayfever season?
