I have bought this dress to wear for a wedding

www.jigsaw-online.com/fashion/1000884/J09498/GY021/womens/dresses/jersey-and-silk-habotai-dress

but have driven myself mad trudging around the shops trying to find shoes/bag/some type of shrug type thing to go with it. Please help me. It needs to be something I can get to the shops to buy, not online.

Just colour advice would be good.

Thank you so much (fingers crossed!)

i might be tempted to forgo shrug idea and go for something more eccclectic like this

cyb · 25/05/2010 22:38

what style of shoe are you thinking? trendy? classic? heel height?

polkydot · 25/05/2010 22:39

Ooh, thank you. I'm so pleased someone replied, this has been driving me mad. You are right as well, I should probably be a bit more imaginative, that is probably my problem.

this would work too for a different look

polkydot · 25/05/2010 22:42

More classic, I struggle a bit with the look of cage shoes and the like. I was thinking maybe slingbacks or wedges? I'm flexible on heel height, although not sky-high as I'm already 5'9 and I'll be in them all day/night.

or go all rock chick and wear cage shoes and this

would be good contrast to dress

don;t know how 'out there' you want to go

polkydot · 25/05/2010 22:43

I was thinking something shorter on top because of the big bow at the back I think.

ha cross post on cage shoes!

PlumSykes · 25/05/2010 22:45

vay nice pale grey heels

polkydot · 25/05/2010 22:46

I have strange issues about things being inbetween types of footwear, like shoe-boots, and sandals that nearly cover the whole food if you see what I mean. I am happy being "out-there' but a bit more funny about shoes

Those grey shoes are very nice, I was looking at pale grey and nude type things, do you think that would work?

OP posts:
polkydot · 25/05/2010 22:48

foot even, can't see why you would cover food with footwear...

Not sure that nude would.

Grey shoes fine, but you'll need to add colour somewhere, even if just as a raspberry bag. A nice chartreuse silk bag would look fab too. Do you really need a shrug-type thing? Might be better without.

polkydot · 25/05/2010 22:57

I thought it would be better without, was just worried about it getting cold later on as reception is until midnight. I see what you mean about colour, thank you. I did look at some purple things to go with it, so might return to that thought.
