What to wear for my wedding? This will be the last thread, I promise!

So, getting married next week. Low key, me and DP and 2 witnesses. All top secret. I'd planned on wearing an ivory maxi gypsy skirt, with a matching top. Until I tried it on again yesterday and decided I'm far too fat and old to wear it. Tried on instead my black full length skirt and looked tons better. So have to find a black top to go with it now. And a handbag. Oh and some underwear because the body/basque thing I bought is too uncomfortable. And I've got 2 days to do it in, as I'll have the DCs with me the rest of the time. AAAAARRRRGGGHHHHH. Thought getting married like this would be stressless! Can anyone point me in the direction of a Monsoon-type handbag (you know, lots of stuff sewn on it) in black, or has black in it. And also any black tops (preferably with small sleeves to cover my bingo wings dainty shoulders). Am size 16-18 top and the skirt is full length black and tiered. Will be wearing silvery gladiator sandals, so advice on any matching jewellery would be good too! Thanks all in advance x

Try [[http://www.stardust-eveningbags.co.uk/Black-Evening-Bags/C3-1-0.htm this] for a handbag? It says they do next day delivery. Got my wedding bag from here, though it was a more boring conventional colour!

trying that again

thanks Iggis - have finally decided to use a black suede one that I've had for ages after all. Managed to find a black top at East, so although nothing's perfect, at least I won't be going naked!

When are you getting married Surprise???

DH and I got married in much the same way as you.

I wore a halter neck, blue maxi dress from Next and flip flops while he wore an old shirt and comfy trousers (see profile for a fuzzy picture). My best friend who was witness said it was the most wonderful wedding she had ever been to. I KNOW yours will be simply wonderful too.

Your outfit sounds great... But I was wondering... if you have time to pop to Monsoon or Next would you consider maxi dressing it too? I must admit I felt an equal measure of cool and relaxed but feminine and secretly special. I have worn and worn and worn my dress (mainly for school runs) and each time I put it on I am reminded of the first time I wore it.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE enjoy your wedding - and report back!!! It sounds LOVELY
