Just looking for some advice really. I'm looking to shift careers and I very much want to train to do bridal hair and make-up. I was wondering if anyone out there does this (or works as a make-up artist in any other capacity) and how hard it is to build up business? I'm in the north west and there don't seem to be too many people doing this work round here - when I booked the lady who did my wedding, she was the second person I tried (the first was already booked up 9 months in advance!!!) and she travelled 40 miles to me! So I think there is business out there, but any advice and suggestions welcome. I was planning to do a course locally first of all at a community college, but could then do something privately-paid if that would help??? Or are all the courses pretty similar???? I've applied for the VTCT certificate in fashion & photographic make-up and a year-long course in hair & wigs for make-up artists....
