Blow dry
Gel (when it had been invented - before that sugar water)
Crimp - spraying with hairspray (Boots ownbrand NON fragranced)
Backcomb
Spray, spray , spray!

Took ages.

One of my favourite styles was shaved head leaving a fringe at the front and at the back (like a girl skin's cut). Add very long extensions to the fringes in purple and pink.
Wear big floppy black hat.
Couldnt see where I was going mind.

I had black and orange arse length dreadlocks.

A pink Marilyn Monroe wash and set.

I worked in an uber trendy hairdressers in the 80s so got my hair done all the time.

It was quite interesting working where I did though. The hair stuff was dull but all the smacked up pop stars were pretty funny.

What makes me laugh is DD's friends with the daft combover, so funny. They have to hold their hair up to see at all!!!! They will surely look back with embarrassment as we all did when we had perms etc.

DD2 has this look (backcombed black hair/skinny jeans/eyeliner/tiara ).

Like all teenagers she likes to think she's so individual but when I picked her up from a gig recently I wouldn't have been able to pick her from a line up of the hundreds few other teens who all looked the same .

I used to set light to my quiff every time I sparked up, ahh that smell of burning hair......takes me right back

Lots of short hair here in brighton the mad arthur scargill appears to have bitten teh dust amongst ds friends who are all 16
