Hi dia2010,

I'm in E15 and used to go to Sean Hanna in Canary Wharf.... I really liked them.

(By the way, I only stopped going as I go to a salon near my parents in Scotland (combine visiting family and beauty in one easy trip )

I live near Canary Wharf and go to a lovely hairdressers in Greenwich. It's called Sweeny and it's on Royal Hill.

Seanhanna are great - much better than Toni and Guy who are their main competitors in the Wharf.

The Gentry is a barber's rather than a hairdressers I think (certainly used to be anyway).

I used to live on Royal Hill in Greenwich - the Sweeney always looked like a scary old lady salon from the outside but have never been in!

Ohh, it's lovely norky. I have an irrational hatred of large or chain hairdressers and this one is so peaceful and relaxed. Some of the staff are Japanese (now that I think of it I get the impression that the owner might be married to a Japanese woman, he travels there quite a bit). It's all very minimal and soothing, with fab head massages and softly spoken staff. It does take quite a while, nearly two hours for me to have a colour and cut, but at least I've never felt processed in the way that the busy salons do.

It was recommended to me on MN.
