Tinted moisturiser. Does anyone use them as a moisturiser, or do you moisturise first...?

Silly question.
Have been looking at various ones (Laura Mercier the front runner so far) but am perfectly happy with my actual moisturiser, I just want a foundation with not too much coverage, so it seems like a good middle-ground.

So... do people actually use them as a moisturiser or moisturise first?

Title sums it up really?

I usually put my moisturiser on first, just as it gives my skin a smooth base. Benefit do a great TM called "you rebel" in 2 shades for all skin types- lasts for ages too.

I wouldn't use two moisturisers. But then I suppose if you're skin is the type to accept two then go ahead, trial and error I guess, but it would slide of my face by 10am!

I have dry skin and really like my moisturiser so would be uphappy to give it up - but then I'm not sure if I should just go for a straight foundation...?

God I'm such a thicky with makeup.

Plus - does anyone have any preferences between the Laura Mercier tinted moisturisers; the illuminating and normal one?

Ooh - I'll go have a look on the Benefit website. I just order some Moon Beam as heard its great so I'll have a look at their TM.

I use MAC primer, then tinted moisturiser on top of that. Just make sure I'm well moisturised at night.

And the tinted moisturiser is enough 'moisture'...?

It is for me, but my skin is oily. What's your skin like?

newmomma · 18/05/2010 16:18

Dry - I use a lovely rich moisturiser and would be unsure of giving it up after years of searching for the right one - but would desperately love to be able to wear TM.

like every thing it's all trial and error. if I didn't use moisturiser first I think the TM wouldn't go on evenly- but that's just my skin which is "normal" well from a distance
I know people who use a little of their foundation mixed with a moisturiser to give a similar effect.

Perhaps use a lighter moisturiser under the TM, and your usual moisturiser as a night cream?
