Interview help!!!

Right ladies. I need your help as I am incapable of making a decision....

I have a dress very similar to this but heavier weight fabric, and more of a knee length pencil skirt; ie, it looks a bit more professional. I would wear it with a gold brooch, black opaques but no idea about shoe colour... black again?

OR

Should I wear this jacket with this skirt with black tights and shoes? Also need help with accessorising...

It's for a teaching interview.

Oh, and I have no time to shop before interview, so it really is between these two outfits- help, I am a mess.

I think wear the black dress, grey can be a bit drab for a first interview. Wear nice underwear, always makes me feel like I've made true effort.

Does the jacket work with the dress at all? And how low is the dress?

I think black opaques may be too heavy if the weather does brighten up next weeka s predicted.

Which do you feel best/most comfortable in?

You could put a brighter coloured top under the suit - perhaps raspberry or purple to brighten it up a bit.

I would always rather wear a jacket for an interview as it just feels that bit more professional.

I like the grey - everybody will be in black. Wear it with a coloured silk cami or coloured shoes and nude tights or nude fishnets, rather than black.

traceybath, my original idea was to wear the jacket with the dress, but it looks a bit mismatched and cheap IYSWIM- worst of both worlds.

The dress is not as low as the one I linked to; it has a cowl neck which I would pin to one side with the vintage gold brooch.

Dress being stretchier is more comfortable, but the suit feels more professional- I have never worn a dress on its own to an interview before, and it feels a bit as if I am just going to work, but don't want to look too straight in a suit

I like the idea of fishnets... what colour shoes do you think would go?

Both are lovely, but if it were me, I think I'd be more comfy in the dress-less likely to pull at it and fiddle etc.

Which do you feel more fabulous in? They are both very suitable, so just a case of picking the one that feels best, I think.

With the dress, coloured tights would look great. Would that be appropirate interview-wear?

janeite, I have red, white, black, tan and yellow shoes which would be suitable- and probably every other colour under the sun if I look under the bed

Should mention that I'm ginger, so some colours don't look great on top...
