Can someone recommend some decent curly hair styling products?

I used Frizz Ease for years and years until a helpful hairdresser pointed out it was actually weighing down my hair.

I'm really looking for one or two products that will calm any frizz and do the whole seperate/hold the curls thing. I've tried Aveda and Redken but found them both pretty ineffective.

I'm getting a very rare opportunity to go shopping on my own today so if anyone has any recommendations I'd really appreciate them. Ideally something not very £££££ and not choc full of chemicals, but tbh I'll try anything!

I know I'll get some recommendations for the curly girl method but I'm going out tonight and I'd really like something that could work by then

I know you won't like my reply but I just use cheapy supermarket hair gel - apply straight after washing when hair is still dripping, scrunch in coating all curls and diffuse. I dry until it still has some moisture in then get some wax and work in and shape, finish dryin et voila. Add hairspray if windy.

So my shopping list would be gel, wax and hairspray.

Superdrug have a range called Sami, I find them pretty good and about £4-5 each.

I did read about a product that's coming over from the US soon called NoFrizz or something similar that's silicone free and supposedly the best thing ever, but not seen it marketed here yet

Thank you both. I don't tend to blow dry very often so don't think gel would work for me but I appreciate the reply juststrudel!

Will be going past superdrug so will have a look there. Any others?

My method works drying naturally too - just scrunch occasionally.

Have fun shopping alone.

I find using the pantene shampoo and conditioner made specially for curls works wonders...

I use the Curly Girl method of hair washing i.e. using conditioner to wash, no shampoo. (Sometimes using baking soda + apple cider vinegar. Anyways, look it up. naturallycurly.com is a good place to start.)

If I want some hold I use Boots' Curl Creme.

Ditto the Pantene curls shampoo effect.

I've been using HIP curl product recently and found it pretty good. Before that I used TIGI Catwalk Curls Rock which I also liked.

Have fun with the shopping.

I use Moroccan oil, you use a tiny tiny amount on damp hair and it smooths all frizz and makes your hair gorgeously soft. Not cheap, but 100ml lasts 6months..

Available in salons, or I get mine off
ebay
