Dh is anti botox, so I'm probably living in fantasy land but I'd like to know how much it costs in case he changes his mind .

Mmm, depends where you go and how many 'areas' you get done. Say £350 for a Harley Street Dr for 3 areas, eg forehead, lines round outside of eyes, and lines between the eyebrows. But have also seen advertised for £99 per area. Those are London prices, not sure if cheaper elsewhere?

GetOrfMoiLand · 14/05/2010 14:27

£180 quid in Cheltenham - forehead & crows feet. Done by a nurse.

I looked it up, was seriously tempted, but instead had a fringe cut to hide the furrows.

I wil probably get it done in teh near future though. I frown a lot and I want to stop it!

HousewifeOfOrangeCounty · 14/05/2010 15:05

ha ha Getorf - am booked to have my hair cut tomorrow purely to get fringe to cover tramlines between my eyebrows.

i've paid 3-350 for 3 areas in liverpool and leeds. i love botox as it really relieves all the stress of worrying about wrinkles! seriously. i'm happy to use nivea face creams when botoxed but without botox i'm endlessly reading up on the latest miracle creams, wasting ££'s
also cured my migraines

melondrama · 14/05/2010 16:10

and don't tell dh until he starts remarking how great and rested you look

GetOrfMoiLand · 14/05/2010 16:10

OOh melon how does it cure migraines then?

I didn't know that.

BridesheadRegardless · 14/05/2010 16:44

I have it and costs £230 for deep furrows between brows and a few around the brows for a 'lift'.

I love just not looking permanently angry anymore, and it's very natural as I still have the forhead lines and light crows feet, and full movement except for the bringing eyebrows together one.

I have to admit though I tell no one have it done (except DH), it's my secret.

tulpe · 14/05/2010 17:20

botox helps to cure migraines and headaches because you can't physically create any tension in the muscles across the forehead anymore (common cause of pain).

HousewifeOfOrangeCounty · 15/05/2010 10:33

that's great tulpe - I now have a valid medical reason. I'm like you Bredeshead - I look grumpy with two huge crevices between the eyebrows.

do you ahve to have really good skin that just happen to have wrinkles? Speaking as someone battling with age spots, open pores, uneven tone etc, wondering if I will just end up with wrinkle free skin that still looks shit

moragbellingham · 16/05/2010 13:20

£300 about six years ago.

I had it in the furrows between eyebrows and a bit for the forehead but was warned that the furrows are way more difficult to achieve a better result with.
I did see some improvement but not enough to justify a top-up six months later.

(London BTW and I don't look like MB either!)

HousewifeOfOrangeCounty · 16/05/2010 20:29

cyb - I have the strawberry open pores and recently had an alpha beta peel (there's a post somewhere. It has helped with the pores a lot, my skin tone isn't too bad anyway, but overall I can really see a differenct, so would recommend.

I have rosacea on top of dodgy pigmentation, I can't remember the name for it, all gets covered up in makeup anyhow and it's still lovely having an unfurrowed brow. I am super frowny, even wearing sunglasses I automatically scowl at a bit of sunshine,

Nointhemood · 18/05/2010 10:44

How much is the alpha beta peel housewife?

Dollytwat · 18/05/2010 10:53

Getorf are you in Chelt then?
me too!

HousewifeOfOrangeCounty · 19/05/2010 10:32

Alpha beta peel was £55 - I'm probably going to do it once a month for a little while, but then my pores are very bad.
