This is for our wedding.

He has got this great shirt but not sure what to put with it.

Thinking along the lines of 3/4 lengths and mules but neither of us very confident in putting stuff together......

Any thoughts or ideas appreciated. Ta.

Three quarter lengths and mules? On a man?? AM I to assume this is no church wedding?

mouseling · 13/05/2010 18:36

It is a registry office wedding followed by a picnic. The intention is informal!

What are you wearing?
Just to give me an idea of how informal we are talking

mouseling · 13/05/2010 18:41

Give me a minute and I will attempt another link!

my dress

OP posts:
mouseling · 13/05/2010 18:54

Took a little more than a minute!!

So I'm wearing that with flat jewelled toe-post sandals.

too casual?

They're not 3/4 length though

smallishsheep · 13/05/2010 19:07

When is your wedding?
Are you sure you're not being a little....optimistic about the weather?

mouseling · 13/05/2010 19:08

Oh thank you.

I think he probably needs something a little more 'rugged' and yes, ideally 3/4 length or even long shorts.

OP posts:
mouseling · 13/05/2010 19:10

I think it's best to at least enter into a wedding with optimism

It's mid June.

OP posts:
mouseling · 13/05/2010 19:11

I'm ignoring the fact that it's now mid May and I'm still wearing my winter coat!

OP posts:
scurryfunge · 13/05/2010 19:14

combat style?

mouseling · 13/05/2010 19:17

I think he would be much more comfortable with combats.

Do you think they can be acceptable wedding-wear?

And do they work with the shirt?

OP posts:
mouseling · 13/05/2010 19:18

Just going to go and sort the kids out with a bath, back later.

OP posts:
scurryfunge · 13/05/2010 19:19

Yep, would go with the shirt.

Your wedding, you can both wear what you like and what you feel most comfortable in

mouseling · 13/05/2010 19:29

Thank you scurryfunge, you are very diplomatic!

You don't think the trousers should be blue / grey with that shirt?

OP posts:
scurryfunge · 13/05/2010 20:08

Maybe, from the photo, is the shirt more blue? I think I was looking more at the style rather than the colour. Grey would be good. I couldn't be bothered with all the fancy stuff at our wedding...although my DH hired an outfit,I bought myself a cream dress I liked off the high street.

mouseling · 13/05/2010 20:24

Yes the shirt is blue.

We've been together a long time and have three children.

We want to feel good on the day but also comfortable and are not in a position to be extravagant.

scurryfunge · 13/05/2010 20:27

Sounds great....if I got married again (ahem) I think I would do a beach wedding, somewhere hot

mouseling · 13/05/2010 20:57

On the beach would have been our preferred option, just not in a position to do it and not likely to be in the foreseeable future!

OP posts:
scurryfunge · 13/05/2010 21:00

Nevermind...maybe Clacton next year!

mouseling · 13/05/2010 21:07

Well, funnily enough we are camping in Clacton the week after next
