What hair products do I need?

My hair is short, prone to frizz and curl. I blow dry it after washing, as if left will half curl, half flop, and frizz too. Awful. Even after blowdrying, its not amazing, and will frizz.

I want it sleek and lovely and straight with minimal effort, the blowdrying is as much maintenance as I can endure.

Is there a lovely magic gel, paste, mousse that I can put in my hair prior to blowdrying, of after to produce some results?

Help please. xx

watching with interest...would love to know if there is something magic out there which will tame my frizz...

Hmm. Part of me wants to say to you EMBRACE YOUR CURLS. if you put Serum or some other curl enhancing product on wet hair and scrunched it dry, I'm sure it would look lovely. Sometimes we just have to face up to what we have ! You've said yourself even blowdrying it isnt the answer.

I use to have a real problem with frizzy hair it was so high maintenance and would only get it looking right one in ten times despite much blowdrying and straighting. Eventually my long suffering dh got fed up with the constant moaning and bad hair days and suggested I look into some kind of treatment. The problem was I did not want that poker straight look which a lot of treatments give and are hugely expensive just frizz free hair. Anyway long story short had a thing called Loreal Extensio done and have not looked back. Just have to run hairdryer through it and job done not dead straight but no frizz,it costs about seventy quid in my local hairdressers and lasts three to six months. Sure its not for everyone but for me its been a god send maybe worth researching in your case.

Morroccan Oil is the answer, the stuff is amazing! It reduces frizz and smooths out. You use a pea size amount on damp hair, style as normal and your hair looks and feels magnificent!

I've had loads of comments since I started using it, I buy it on ebay as its cheaper from Israel..

Sounds like amazing stuff having read the lit, may have to invest in some when the extenso wares off. How long does the postage take?

mummalish · 13/05/2010 12:39

Oooh, so far am loving the advice. I would embrace my curls if they were indeed proper curls, however, I have one curly spot, which is more frizzy kink than curl.

The Loreal Extensio, does that involve hair extensions? What on earth is it? Sounds good though.

go with the curl. look up threads on curly girl method, they may improve curl and minimise frizz. don't wash too often as that can make frizz frizzier, iyswim

The aussie range of shampoo and conditioners are great, they do one to reduce frizz and it works for me, and for when you want your curls, but frizz free, try a little brylcream on wet hair. {smile]

IsBreaLiomFion · 13/05/2010 13:41

Just google it mummalish lots of info there, no hair extensions involved.

wineismysaviour · 13/05/2010 15:00

IsBrea, it arrived within 5 days, no problem. It makes your hair feel silky smooth and it looks in great condition immediately. I was really amazed my cotton wool mop went to luscious wavy hair in one wash!

I couldn't do without it now. A bottle does last about 6 months as well, as you only need a tiny amount each time.

Well worth the investment.

Thanks for that wims not only have we same hair in common but a taste for vino, my name means I love wine in irish.

mummalish · 13/05/2010 16:36

Going to give moroccan oil a try.

If you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for a bottle, including postage?

Also, how do you use it, as a smoothing serum, before hairwash or after? On wet hair or dry?

I paid about £21 for a 100ml bottle and a sample bottle thrown in on ebay, from Israel - see above link.

I think its about £26 - £30 in the shops/hairdressers in the UK. I use every 2 days (each time I wash it), on towel dried hair. Then I put on hairgel and style as normal. You really only need the size of a 5p coin, rub your hand together and then work it through from about an inch off your hairline back.

et voila..Silky tresses

If your hairdresser sells it ask for a sample? It has its own facebook page so you can find a salon near you to purchase through...

wineismysaviour · 13/05/2010 17:20

or even 'rub your hands'...oops

wineismysaviour · 13/05/2010 17:33

IsBrea...great minds and all that..hic.
