Trainer type shoes that don't look like trainers?

Am getting bloody old! Am on my feet at work all morning and need a comfy shoe/trainer that doesn't look too sporty/clumpy. I wear jeans mostly. Have tried plimsoll-y type things but after a while the sole is just too thin...

HELP!

How about these? www.ecco.com/gb/en/collection/women/casual/45183/50669/detail.do

I bought Ecco trainer style shoes last year and they are so comfortable and really help my back which used to get sore. They're a bit more pricey but worth it as they're very well made.

If not that style, here are their casual styles www.ecco.com/gb/en/collection/women/casual/index.jsp?tab=index

HTH.

Not quite a trainer, but have you tried Crocs? Very comfy and light and they just slip on! Google it.

pagwatch · 12/05/2010 11:58

what is your budget? If you can spend a bit more money DKNY have some nice ones. They have thick sole but are 'lighter' looking

Crocs? Only if style, fashion or taste are not important

happystory · 12/05/2010 12:01

Thanks all. Not overly keen on Crocs and am always worried they will fly off! (I work with children)

Price not too much of an issue if they are 'the ones' as they last me a year or two

i have some kickers which are brown leather with a velcro strap.

i generally look in schuh for these type of shoes.

pagwatch · 12/05/2010 12:08

I read that as knickers which are brown leather with a velcro strap and wondered what the hell kind of thread I was clicking on

and I worried about the chaffing

and what would the strap be for?
