We are going to a wedding in a few weeks in Suffolk, posh golf club, but quite a relaxed, laid back couple, non traditional ... but I'm wondering if the above dress, with cardigan/shrug/pashmina and wedge heels would be dressy enough. Or would it look like I was going to the beach for the day?
I already have the dress, I'm a short size 18 with much norkage, BUT I think the dress looks nice on me so I don't think I'd look stupid in it ... just not sure if it's wedding attire...?

TIA

I like the dress for holidays but no definitely not for a wedding.

I also think with big boobs it would look a bit over-exposed.

Boobage will be strapped down
Ah poo, I was hoping I could get away with a casual dress which I could dress-up. My other option is a dress I've already got ... raspberry red satin shift from Monsoon which I think is going to be too stuffy and tight fitting for a potentially hot and busy day. Hmmmmm.

If anyone has any ideas for a curvy short lass who doesn't like dressing up, please weigh in!

Have you tried Bravissimo? The dresses aren't too expensive, and there may even be a shop near you.But the stuff comes very quickly from online I find, and easy to return.

I think the Spot Print and Classic Floral would be perfect with a wee cardy or wrap.

I am 5' 7.5'',and find they come well above my knee,so they shouldn't be too short. They do great plunge bras too, which are perfect with this style.

Thank you, I will order a couple and see what I like

Spoke to the bride last night who confirmed I can wear whetever I like, even flip flops because we'll be having drinks/photos on the beach

Although for future reference ... is a maxi dress EVER acceptable for a wedding? I wholly accept my dress is more holiday wear, but I have a v similar one in dark purples and navy which I think is more sophisticated

Hmmm, you're right. The ones I like are a bit bright and bold. Although I can't ever imagine myself in the black one, it's really, really not me.
I am so stuck!

BibiThree - I think that first maxi is lovely. The bride sounds very relaxed so why not wear that with a fab bright but plain coloured wrap and flat strappy sandals?

If the straps were very thin then I would say no, due to lovely large norkage, but those straps are wide enough to conceal a bra.

Keep accessories to just a fab bangle/cuff and a bag.

Don't wear the red shift. Sounds terribly formal whereas the wedding is actually a very relaxed affair.

I think a maxi is a very chic choice But then I am wearing two different ones to two different events in the next couple of weeks!

The straps do cover my bra, I just checked. I am a D cup but on a short body a D looks v big, so will be wearing sensible underwear. I'm not sure I could carry off flat shoes for the whole day as I'm v short (will have pair of flats handy for beach though). Wedges or small heeled sandals???

I'm going shopping tomorrow moring so will look for elegant wrap/fine knit cardigan and if I can possibly pull it off to look elegant and not beachy I will as for £20 I think the dress is fab and can afford to buy some nice accessories. If I were to splash out on a Monsson number then accosories would be off limits.

I think it's lovely too. Try and get a special wrap/cardi with a little beading on it so it looks extra special. If you can match the predominant pink colour that would be good or try to find the turquoise colour. Maybe shoes with a matching colour too and a neat little bag.

I agree with everythingiseverything there are different classes of maxi dress.

I have been to some weddings where people have worn fabulous maxi dresses but Im sorry this would not fall into that category.
It looks a bit cheap (sorry just IMO) and although fine for wandering round on a holiday evening I wouldnt wear it for a wedding
