no, but you can get a vest which does the same thing from primark for £5. 00 or M and s for £12.

Maqybe worth trying before you fork out lots of money.

It doesnt look very comfortable.

notjustapuppymum · 08/05/2010 14:29

Yes! I wore one of these immediately after giving birth for 6 weeks or so. Very very comfy and also quite warm.
Really recommend it. I wouldn't have thought cheaper ones would have the same quality boning in them.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 08/05/2010 15:51

I've got something similar, which is called a corselette - has tiny hooks and eyes up the front, but no straps, and boning

Mine wasn't really for frequent wear, is more comfortable than it looks but not great for sitting down in - fab for wearing with a special dress or a special occasion (I got mine a couple of months after DS2 was born to fit into my only party dress).

I'd also endorse the M & S vest, which is great for smoothing you out more subtly

indigobarbie · 08/05/2010 17:02

Thanks ladies! I really need something quite firm I reckon as am recovering from 10 weeks ago c section and still look 6 months pregnant due to wide separation of abdominals. I am getting them back in again slowly, but have a wedding to go to and can't be bothered explaining to people who ask when I am due, that I'm not!!!

Yes, I think this is the thing for you then(I also had abs that were shot to pieces)

RockSolidLabourSeat · 08/05/2010 17:48

Can anyone link to the M&S vest please, I don't know which one it is? Sorry for hijack. TIA

I think that torsette thing looks good btw. Good price if it works too. I have tried the 'knickers' type things and I find they just make a giant muffintop at the top of the knickers . Maybe worth investing in vests if suitable for everyday wear.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 08/05/2010 17:58

tummy control vest

Jamieandhismagictorch · 08/05/2010 17:59

Also, have a look at figleaves

RockSolidLabourSeat · 08/05/2010 18:17

thanks

pickledmonkey · 08/05/2010 18:21

i have this which as been fab so far. think i have 20% off code until monday for figleaves, you put the work SOLUTIONS in where it asks for it, worth a try

indigobarbie · 08/05/2010 20:03

great stuff girls, Pickled does it wrinkle up?

DukesOfTripHazard · 08/05/2010 21:06

I found M&S one really uncomfortable to be honest.

indigobarbie · 08/05/2010 22:00

Ok I've ordered the torsette. Thank you pickled for the code!
I will let you know how I get on, I desire a smooth tummy for the wedding until I can 1. lose 2 stones of babyweight or 2. close the abdominal muscles gap which will maybe slim me a bit thanks everyone

indigo - once you've recovered a bit more(not sure what the guidelines are). I've found a Slendertone Flex abdominal belt to be really good

indigobarbie · 09/05/2010 09:13

Morning Jamie oooh, thanks for that tip! Will deffo check that out, need all the help

KnickKnack · 09/05/2010 09:19

I've had this Flexee one for years. I wear it almost all the time (excellent mid-back support, the flat tummy is an added bonus). As a brand they are great quality and mine is only starting to wear out now after about 4 years of use.
Also very comfy and no muffin top/roll down/roll up.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 09/05/2010 09:21
  • I'm using it now (9 years after CS, and 7 years after last birth) - my abs never went back to normal (my fault, really), but it saves a lot of exercising. Do take advice though - in the instructions it says wait 3 months post cs, and consult Dr first
Jamieandhismagictorch · 09/05/2010 09:21

Congrats on the baby, BTW < gets a bit misty-eyed >

KnickKnack · 09/05/2010 09:23

anyone else looking at these...the models must be very tall. mine goes up to bra line and down over hip bone (and I'm about 5ft7). in the photo I linked to (and one on the Debanhams website) it looks like it only covers immediate waist area!

KnickKnack · 09/05/2010 09:25

I didn't realise you were only 10 weeks post CS, perhaps look into this further and ask around. maybe start a thread with CS and control underwear (or similar) in the title? or google a bit.

indigobarbie · 09/05/2010 14:20

HI Jamie thanks I have been working hard to close the gap in my abs - see this post here, it has links to the exercises by Julie Tupler which aren't really very bad and you can do when you are sitting watchin the telly, it doesn't matter how long ago you had your children

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/956256-10-months-after-baby-stomach-is-still-massive?msgid=19538 494

knickknack Thanks to you too, you are right, I am hoping that those are tall models cos I want this to come down to at least my hip bone. I've checked with my physio if I can wear a garment, I don't fancy the pants as it would be a battle to get them on and off for a wee, but I also have SPD so limited moving around for a while! This looked like a good alternative.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 09/05/2010 17:45

Thanks for that- will have a look. Is making me feel slightly ill thinking about it though [sad.]

indigobarbie · 10/05/2010 12:29

Jamie Sorry, I don't want to make you feel ill xx
