BelleDameSansMerci · 08/05/2010 13:16

Oh dear... Did you try it with unfortunate results?

I wax mine.

MayorNaze · 08/05/2010 13:21

well...i have tried waxing and creaming but always get ingrown hairs...the sliky mitt solution promised to eradicate this prob as well as the offending 'tache...i bleach at the mo but still could qualify for moustache club membership (is graspable extremeties )

silky mitt is akin to sandpaper to the face...v sore...

JackBauer · 08/05/2010 13:32

THIS is why I did not rush out and buy one after reading the thread.
I rememebr the silkymit leg disaster of 1999, I had to send a mate out for tights to wear with my new skirt as my legs were red raw.

BelleDameSansMerci · 08/05/2010 14:17

I think I used Silkymit with some success on my legs but wouldn't do it on my face.

I've not tried threading but one of my friends really recommends it - perhaps try that?

My mum plucks (ouch!!) hers out as she says waxing hurts too much

MayorNaze · 08/05/2010 14:38

i do pluck occsionally...damn children - pre-dcs it was controllable, post dcs i am the moustachiod lady

Joolyjoolyjoo · 08/05/2010 14:39

oh no- I just bought one of these the otherday, as recommended by someone on here! haven't used it yet, and am afraid to now!

moondog · 08/05/2010 14:42

Blimey.

Go for IPL and have done.

Clip · 08/05/2010 14:42

WHY do folk bleach their moustache? You just end up with a blonde moustache! You still look like this, but blonde

MayorNaze · 08/05/2010 14:42

NO NO NO! step away from the silky mitt!!! tbh i may use it to sand away the hard skin on my tootsies...that is how abrasive we are talking...

OP posts:
MayorNaze · 08/05/2010 14:43

what is IPL?

OP posts:
moondog · 08/05/2010 14:44

Intense Pulsed Light.
Ih ad it on bikini line.
Fantastic.Hair gorn.

Pricey thoguh.

MayorNaze · 08/05/2010 14:46

oh is that lazer treatment? or something else? how much for a 'tache do we think?

OP posts:
moondog · 08/05/2010 14:48

Well it is better than laser for some reason.

Lets, see, probably couple of hundred?
Google it near you.

MayorNaze · 08/05/2010 14:49

really? well if is permanant...

OP posts:
MayorNaze · 08/05/2010 14:50

does it take just one blast? laser is repeated treatments, no?

OP posts:
moondog · 08/05/2010 14:54

Well depending on hair, you sometimes need more than one. But 'tache hair is preety fine, yes, even in worst case scenario.

If you can afford, i would recommend., It will liberate you from much misery I am sure.

BelleDameSansMerci · 08/05/2010 15:38

moondog thank you! Definitely going to look into this.

rookiemater · 08/05/2010 22:44

I have just purchased a Boots Soft Skin home IPL machine. It is pricey £325 but will be worth it if it can get rid of my chin hairs and still cheaper and more convenient than going to a salon.

If that works I might start on my bikini line and see how that goes.

moondog · 08/05/2010 22:46

I saw that.
It's new out, yes?

If it doesn't do the trick, sned the bugger back and get refund.

TopsyKretts · 08/05/2010 22:54

You need this

rookiemater · 08/05/2010 22:57

Its been out for over a year moondog, can't believe I missed it in my oonstant quest to get rid of my beard. It was either that or wait another year to get the requesite Tesco vouchers for sk1n. Fingers crossed it works, I probably won't know within a month as they say it can take up to 12 treatments, and with my particularly resilient chin hairs it most likely will.
Still unlike my teeth it will last forever and I will not be hairy faced old lady.

moondog · 08/05/2010 23:01

I doubt something costing less than £2 wil lget rid.

May the beard be banished for evermore Rookie!

SixtyFootDoll · 08/05/2010 23:04

Topsy i bought one of those sstick after a recommendation on here, its shite

I am saving for IPL.

KillerCleavage · 08/05/2010 23:06

I'm with clip. Bleaching your lady tache or beard just means that you have a blonde lady tache or beard. It's still there and your foundation still gets stuck in it. Even if you don't wear foundation other people can still see it.

Get it waxed or electrocuted off by your local beautician. You will not regret it. Actually, it's really quite easy to wax it off yourself. I do!
