Would send people's eyes funny I think.

I'd go for no pattern - you want people paying attention to you not your dress.

In fact - don't I remember from last year you buying a lovely dress for a big presentation?

I'd be tempted to wear somethign you already have that you are comfortable in and looks good and perhaps buy new fab shoes.

cyb · 07/05/2010 21:43

I find those half and half dresses very Next circa 1987.

If you're doing a presentation you MUST be careful with linen. If you're sitting down then standing up to speak you don't want to look like a potato sack (no matter how lovely the dress).

I quite like your original no.4.

squeaver · 07/05/2010 21:46

That advice goes for linen mix too. Grab the fabric in the shop and scrunch it up. The imagine that x10 plus extra body heat.

brimfull · 07/05/2010 21:46

can you stretch to £1200

moondog · 07/05/2010 21:47

This is LOVELY

tethersend · 07/05/2010 21:49

I think you should buy them all.

traceybath · 07/05/2010 21:49

Pretty for summer drinks or wedding

moondog · 07/05/2010 21:50

Ok Cyb, am completely put off half and hald dresses now. Will never go near them.Tracey yes, sort of Morooccan shift with beaded yolk I go (good memory!) for another presentation.

You could be right.

I love the kaliko one with gentle grey pattern but no in my size.
Also linen with ribbon but worrying about potato factor.

Gah. I shaLL JUST STAY HOME IN FLANNEL PYJAMEA.iT'S ALL SO TIRING....

I think that your first dress...the Jaeger one, is perfect. Classic and elegant - you will look smart and professional, but people will (hopefully!) be more interested in what you are saying, rather than being distracted by your outfit! There have been some great suggestions, but prints/florals etc can be risky...IMHO go for one colour in a classic and flattering style!

brimfull · 07/05/2010 21:53

kaliko in 12 here

are you a 12??
