Need a better wardrobe!

I am 14 weeks post baby #2, and had a mad moment today, where I picked up some normal clothes to try on. And I looked hideous.

Boobs sagging - b/feeding and wearing non-wired nursing bras, so they are a good 4 inches lower than they should be...which makes my torso look very short. Overall I looked stumpy (but am 5'6'') and frumpy. Fed up of wearing maternity clothes, which don't really fit, but neither does my old wardrobe.

What can I do? Don't want to spend a fortune buying clothes I hope will become too big...

Also, what jeans should I look for - I don't like skinny/straight legs but what brand looks good on an average size 14?

I used to love shopping - and have loads of nice things in my wardrobe - but feeling drab, unfashionable and middle aged (am 34) right now

HELP!!

I remember this phase, please don't be too hard on yourself as am sure you actually looked a lot better than you think you did but its just the whole shock of your ever changing new body emerging again.

Tops wise I would stick with some simple v neck / scoop neck t'shirts and layering and get yourself some cheap bootcut jeans or linen mix trousers to tide you through until you feel much happier about your body. New Look do some good basic range jeans or good old supermarket range if you don't want to spend a fortune and save your pennies for a big shop once you are back where you want to be.

I swear by Gap long & lean when I'm post-partum. Nice high rise which hold your tummy flat and don't give you that weird 'mum-puff' which is like a front-arse.

Dont worry too much cant offer much advice but I was in my maternity jans until at least 6 months after my DS's.

this was me not so long ago ... ds3 is now 7 months.

I swear by Primark and the like for fashionable yet cheap stuff to see you through. I love skinnies though (Primark are £8!!) so can't advise on jeans but have just bought a size down every time more weight has come off - at that price you can afford to!

Lots of tank tops and stuff for easy boob access but also - buy loads of gorgeous scarves!! They make everything look better and more pulled together and are invaluable for public bfing/ discretion.

and focus less on the stuff that is affected by baby weight and more on lovely shoes and bags. Much more cheering!!

BTW I feel your pain - 3 days after having dc3 I tried on a size12 skirt (am usually a 10-12) and was beside myself when the zipper wouldn't do up. Three days!!!! Madness. I blame the hormones

@toddlerama - at front-arse...the back one is quite enough ha ha!
Will venture into Gap, didn't try there yet.

@WMUA - thank you, I did actually walk (very quickly!) round New Look today. It was when I spotted the drainpipe, stonewash elastic waist band jeans that I decided that high fashion is not for me right now!! I think I am too old for NL...

@60foot - actually, I would quite like to wear my maternity jeans, but they are a bit of a weird cut, so with no bump, they don't stay up!

I am not even thinking about the wedding I have at the end of July...

@...Cake - I fear this is my problem; too much giddy cake consumption on the basis that I am BF and need the calories (!)

Scarves are a great idea - and given the way our ''BBQ summer'' is shaping up, a v practical solution to heat preservation
